Are there any RPGs for the PS2 that are like Oblivion in the way you can

Continuing my 'game finished' posts, this time it was Star Ocean 3.
So far, in my relatively short PS2 life, this is the best console RPG
I've played. I can't stop enumerating the good things it has:

well iam now on the mission "dam and blast" where u have to fly the airplane
and then u have to jump out of the plane onto the dam. everytime i try to
push the triangle buttton it doesnt work. does anyone know what the problem
