Matrix Games at the Spiel 2007 game convention, Essen, Germany30 Oct 2007 14:14 GMT21
The Spiel 2007 convention in Essen, Germany (October 18th-21st) is the
biggest game convention in the world. While mostly dedicated to
family- and boardgames it has everything a wargamer likes too. From
boardgames to miniatures to even pc wargames.

Ageod's Napoleon's Campaigns vs. Napoleon in Italy30 Oct 2007 00:17 GMT8
Well, it's hard to say which is better, since the former's not out
yet, but which one is more exciting in terms of gameplay and content,
if you extrapolate Ageod's American Civil War to Napoleonic battles?
SC2 Weapons of Warfare29 Oct 2007 22:40 GMT5
After briefly reading the changes...same look..completely different
mechanics.
I figured that when I loaded it up and found a panzer shootin twice;-)
Assuming it all works (and a guy tested a third reich mod with it AI vs AI
Do you like WWII?  Enjoyed Empire or Blitzkrieg?  Play TOAW?29 Oct 2007 08:14 GMT68
If so, you should have a good look at this upcoming release, Advanced
Tactics. It's extremely flexible and great for historical as well as
fictional conflicts. Great gameplay, infinite replayability thanks to
a customizable random scenario generator as well.
Why is Advanced Tactics $39.99 in both USD and CAD?28 Oct 2007 13:14 GMT4
Come on you cheap bastards! When the USD was worth more than the CAD you
charged us more but now that things are reversed you charge us the same.
For a while you charged us more even when the CAD was on par. I cry
foul!  The one CAD is worth 3.8 cents more than that funny money ...
Ping: Giftzwerg27 Oct 2007 20:33 GMT16
Clearly there are a finite number of Giftzwergs on t'interweb, but there
presumably are more than one.
Was it you that kept nailing me with a Railgun on ETQW on friday evening (on
misc. European server)?
Wargamer's New Look27 Oct 2007 17:35 GMT133
For those of you who visit Wargamer, what do you think of new look of
its home page?
I am not a fan of the change--it's too busy, intrusive, and the new
scheme has reduced the ease with which you can read and use the home
Commander : Europe at War - The Wargamer review27 Oct 2007 16:00 GMT7
Bill Trotter doing the reviewing. This time he's so excited about
telling us about the game his usually long-winded introduction is
almost totally absent

ADVANCED TACTICS:  Load scenario?27 Oct 2007 15:44 GMT2
The manual shows and describes an elaborate "load scenario" window where
the various scenarios can be browsed through ... when I click the "load
scenario" button, I get a standard Windows "open file" dialog box.
Am I missing something, here?
Best Wargames of 200727 Oct 2007 01:26 GMT61
I always try to include this category when doing a GOTY for a site.
So far, this is my tentative list:

Carriers at War/Battlefront - dead in the water?25 Oct 2007 10:16 GMT158
I've searched, waited and searched - and I haven't seen any new
scenarios to play with either of these good games. Were both abandoned
from the beginning by the scenario designers?
With CaW this is so sad, as I still got CaW1/CaW2/Scenario Designer and
