Initiative - FFF25 Feb 2004 21:36 GMT43
Hi all. I was quite taken by the discussion on the other thread about
initiative and momentum. However, it has quickly degenerated into a flame
war. I would like to further discuss this issue, as I find it quite
interesting. It would be great if we could all exercise a bit of self

In 1999 I sent the following comments to a developer and to a hobbyist who
asked me for recommendations on Usenet groups about wargame.
Try comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.war-historical  This newsgroup was created in 1998
by some fairly hard corps gamers who were tired of the voluminous ...

What ww2 game would people recommend for single play?
I have tried Battlefield 1942 but found the AI isn't too good in
single play mode.  What about Call of Duty and Medal of Honor?
I have a Dell 933mhz 512 ram with a 128mb video card.

Semi-OT: Don't ever buy anything from Store4War (HTTR odissey)...19 Feb 2004 18:12 GMT31
I ordered HTTR online from Store4War more than month ago. I
received like 10 or so S4W newsletters (completely in French) in the
meantime, but not a word regarding my order. I sent them like 10+
e-mails to see what goes on with my order during the last 20 days.
Medal of Honor19 Feb 2004 00:17 GMT1
What would be the correct newsgroup to discuss games like Medal of
Honor and Call of Duty, specifically as regards mods and multiplayer?

Problem launching HTTR18 Feb 2004 00:34 GMT10
I recently installed Highway to the Reich and have been able to run it one
time.  Each other time I insert the CD, I get a error message saying that I
should eject the CD and then reinsert it.  I've also had CTDs after the
intro movie plays.  I'm running this on a Dell Inspiron 8500 ...
Best Combat Aircraft Simulator ????????????????17 Feb 2004 12:29 GMT5
What is the best Combat Aircraft simulator, not just to fly but so I can
dogfight and shoot at ground targets.  In essence a true combat flight
simulator, not just a dumbed down game.
Thank you :)
Battleground Gettysburg on XP Home17 Feb 2004 00:02 GMT7
I'm hoping someone can help with this.  I had installed BGG on my work
system running XP Professional and it ran fine without requiring any
tweaking at all.  I've since tried to load it on my home system running XP
Home version.  The startup screen comes up OK, but once I select a ...
CMAK Gfx upgrades?15 Feb 2004 15:46 GMT7
Back before I gave CMBO away, I went to a CM website and downloaded a
massive amount of gfx upgrades. Huge. new trees, skies, hires tank skins,
terrain, uniforms, building textures. It transformed the game gfx into
something really excellent, esp. once I was 100% hires.
