So how is Space Empires V these days?28 Nov 2007 15:33 GMT6
I used to play a lot of Space Empires IV, not so much online, more
either solo against AI or with me and my kids against AI on our LAN. I
still like the game, still have it on my HD and fire up a game now and
then, but the stupid AI just makes a game boring once I get past the
Real-time Strategy games20 Nov 2007 15:41 GMT16
I've almost always avoided anything with 'real-time' in the title
because I'm pretty slow, but one or two games I was thinking about
putting on my Christmas list say they're in this category.
I'm having a bit of trouble picturing what an RTS would be like.  Can
ID this old PC game20 Nov 2007 15:40 GMT9
Playing the Age of Empires III demo has reminded me of a PC strategy
game demo I played quite some years ago.
Probably in 1996 or 1997, and almost certainly gotten from a cover CD
with a Danish computer magazine, rather than downloaded (at 28.8k, or
The Sims 2 Seasons patch changed without notice?13 Nov 2007 15:18 GMT2
in May I downloaded and installed the file sims2ep5_patch_cd.exe from
http://thesims2.ea.com, which was 45.5 MB (47,777,046 bytes). Today I
downloaded the same file from the same webpage and it is 47.1 MB
(49,426,923 bytes).
pc-to-pc games available13 Nov 2007 04:08 GMT8
I am looking for a compuer game that i can play between multiple
computers on my own home network without having to go online.  I liked
"Strategic Conquest", and would almost be satisfied with it for this
purpose if it ran on Windows instead of just on Macs.
Need User Guide .pdf file for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 - PC Game10 Nov 2007 12:47 GMT2
I bought a used copy of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 (PC) off of eBay,
but it didn't come with a user guide, and I didn't see one on the DVD
disc, and looking EA Sports support site is a total waste of time. If
anyone has this in a PDF format could you email it to me?
Turn based strategy games this year10 Nov 2007 04:00 GMT18
Is it me, or are the only good strategy game releases just expansions
(ie. Beyond the Sword)? Any good 2007 TBS games?
Sins of a Solar Empire07 Nov 2007 14:06 GMT1
This is a real-time 4x game being published by Stardock. I saw a
preview for it some months ago and it was due in August. Now it looks
like it's been pushed back to February. The most recent preview from
Gamespy makes it sound like it's a solid game but lacking polish and
Disciples III: Any News?06 Nov 2007 23:27 GMT2
Hi All: Being a total fan of TB strategy I was wondering if anybody
had some news on Disciples 3? I get 1st quarter 08 from Gamespot.
Doesn't seem to be much talk or insight about it's release! Does
anybody have any inisight?
Open-source strategy game similar to stratego06 Nov 2007 19:43 GMT2
If anyone is interested in a educational/software development challenge
Tactical Neuronics (known for A.I. Wars games) has a free game available
called Fortress of Flags. It has a version called A.I. Sandbox which uses
XML to interface with a game controller harness that you create ...
AoE II:TC Embedded Monks or not?04 Nov 2007 14:00 GMT2
I've played a bit of Age of Empires II: The Conquerors, and I'm stuck
between two difficulty levels.
Not being a hardcore real-time-tactician, I find the third (middle)
level of difficulty to be slightly too difficult, whereas the second
Best RTS (cont.)02 Nov 2007 07:27 GMT15
Well, my threads were purged so I lost the original post.
I believe someone had posted what we thought could be the 'Best' RTS. My
apollogies if it wasn't.
Anyway, if indeed it is considered an RTS my vote goes for Dungeon Keeper
Any games like Homeworld 2?02 Nov 2007 07:25 GMT3
Are there any great games similar to Homeworld 2?
Homeworld 2 + Halo 3 + X-Wing02 Nov 2007 07:18 GMT5
Wouldn't it be great if you could take all three types of games and
put them into one big game where you get to alternate playing admiral,
soldier, and pilot? First you're up in space directing the battle.
Then you're flying a space fighter/bomber attacking enemy craft. Then
