Civ 3 Tutorial31 Dec 2005 13:06 GMT1
Is it me or is the Civ 3 tutorial worthless for a person who has never
played any version of the game. I just bought it "new in box" on ebay,
should the game have come with a manual? I've tried the tutorial twice
and have absolutely no idea how to play this game. Thanks
Civ IV patch v152 won't install30 Dec 2005 20:51 GMT2
It's strange : I have Civ IV on my computer (with 1.09 patch installed)
but the patch v152 says it can't launch because it doesn't find any Civ
IV version on my hard disk. Am I the only one ? (it's a french version
of the game).
Civ 4 Crashes at Wonder Movie30 Dec 2005 04:20 GMT3
Is there a way to turn off the movie that pops up when you complete a
wonder?  My machine crashes about 2/3 of the time when that happens.
Thanks,
Jack
Civ 4 v1.52 out now28 Dec 2005 23:49 GMT5
Latest patch for Civ 4 now available (1.52).  That's a big leap in
version numbers !!  Looks like a number of performance fixes and
support for lower spec machines amongst other things.
Go see http://www.civfanatics.com/ for more info plus download.
Civ3 DyP - govts? Forums?28 Dec 2005 15:31 GMT3
I just discovered DyP, and boy does it rock. One thing I can't figure out,
though, is what the new governments (Federal Rep and Social Dem) are supposed to
be good for.  They both seem inferior to straight Democracy in every way - money,
research, war weariness, unit support, ...
Heroes of Might & Magic V28 Dec 2005 01:33 GMT2
I noticed while browsing through Amazon.com today that Heroes of Might
& Magic V (Ubisoft) is available for $19.99 through the Target section
on Amazon.  It says the game is scheduled for a 2006 February 28th
release.  It has to be a mistake but I wonder if they will honor people

Civ 4, laptops, and T&L - NOT another whinge23 Dec 2005 04:29 GMT6
OK I'm confused.
I have a new but fairly entry level laptop with an onboard Intel GPU
with no T&L so I assumed I wasn't going to be able to play Civ 4.
However on this months PCZone magazine cover disk was a demo of Civ 4.
Urban Warfare RTS/TBS Game Suggestions22 Dec 2005 21:30 GMT9
I've only played 1st/3rd person shooters my entire gaming life and I'm
interested in getting into some strategy gaming.
In particular, I'm looking for:
* urban/guerilla (but I'll take what I can get, just no fantasy)
ANN: Space Civilizations has been Released22 Dec 2005 02:16 GMT3
Space Civilizations is a turn-based massive multiplayer space strategy game,
that is played with a very slim downloadable client. You share a galaxy with
hundreds of players, some of them might turn out to be your enemies, others
could be your allies. You need to explore the ...
Panzer Generals.. Any similar style games out there?21 Dec 2005 21:55 GMT25
Anybody out there know any games that are similar to SSI's Panzer Generals?
My dad in law has been playing this game from start to finish more than
once, and would like something in the same style of gaming. Anybody has any
suggestions of games that are around atm and preferably NOT ...
Favorite Cleve Blakemore memories?21 Dec 2005 19:55 GMT2
I personally loved his Commodore 64 games like Jungle Jake, Lunar
Buggy, The Last Ninja, Dark Fortress, and Phantasy.
Here's my favorite quote from Cleve: "If you kicked my a.s into the sky
I would come down as sunshine, that's how good I am at what I do."
Warhammer: Dawn of War is awesome21 Dec 2005 14:59 GMT11
I just got this game and am really enjoying it.  It's more fun than
WarCraft 3, in my opinion.
I like the idea that for soldiers, squads are treated as a collective
whole.  This makes sense.  After all, in most RTS's, you tend to put
Civ4 Multiplayer with Xwire21 Dec 2005 11:23 GMT9
My friend and I just finished a play-by-email game in Civ4.  It was
extremely slow, but we learned a lot about the game.  We want to play
our next game in real time over the internet.  Can anyone give me
advice on how to do this using the Xwire site?  Is there a link
