The Civ4 box says minimum directX 7 and my Radeon 9600 is a directX 9
card. If any one is blaming ATI or Nvidia maybe they should reread the

When you trade away your resources, do you still benefit from them
yourself? When I traded away cow, for instance, suddenly other civs
wanted to trade cow back to me. Is this a bug?

I was totally addicted to Civ 1. I was an undergraduate at the time and
missed many a night's sleep playing it. The combat was pretty crappy,
but it wasn't a wargame. It was the groundbreaking strategy game. No SP
game came close.

On some plains or grass tiles I can build farms. On others it says
"requires Civil Service". When I researched Civil Service that warning
went away, but I still couldn't build farms on those tiles!
