What is the best single-player strategy game right now?30 Jun 2005 19:38 GMT18
What is the best first-person strategy game right now?  (RTS or turn-
based).
The last two strategy games that I really liked were SMAC and Rise of
Nations.  I repeatedly tried to like Civ III but, in the end,

Rise of Nations RON: How to use spies23 Jun 2005 23:47 GMT8
Maybe I'm dense (I'm color blind to certain colors actually), but how do you
use spies and generals?  And what are those color codes on top of these
guys?  Each time I select a newly created one and use, I'm told I don't have
'craft'.  Huh?  They're newly created and haven't been ...

[Space Empires 4] Purpose of computerized bridge?18 Jun 2005 00:49 GMT5
Hey all, I just recently got a copy of SE4 after hearing so much about it
here. Although the game shows its age and low budget in many ways, it's
still very playable and even after 2 days I am still on game 1.
I've found the game to be mostly intuitive despite its complexity, but ...
AoE2 and Expansion - Difficulty level?16 Jun 2005 15:47 GMT4
Hey all,
I'm relatively new to strategy games (I've only played Age of
Mythology Gold, Armies of Exigo and Spellforce) and I'm finding Age of
Empires 2 rather difficult on standard setting. Is this game harder
First thoughts Rise of Nations16 Jun 2005 12:30 GMT5
Bought this a few days ago - the national borders and detailed economy
seems good. However, I'm a bit mystified by the campaign - is there
really just this Risk-type game, with no storyline whatsoever?! I
defeated a barbarian tribe, then fought one of the outlying Mongol
SE4 bugs going to be fixed?  And what about SE5?15 Jun 2005 06:05 GMT7
Lurking in a Shrapnel forum I discovered a long list of still-existing
bugs (56, to be exact) in Space Empires 4 Gold, which surprised me a
great deal for a game that had be sold, patched, then sold again as
"gold", then patched again.  Now they are developing SE5 while SE4
classic bundles13 Jun 2005 16:52 GMT2
Given the talk of compatibility issues of old classics; is there any
thought to releasing a moderately priced bundle of such classics like the
XGeneral series, MoOX,  etc that were updated to run seamlessly on modern
OS's?
