Sid Meier's Pirates31 Jan 2005 06:42 GMT6
Why no talk on this game?  It's been out for a few months.  Did this game
not sell?
I've been playing it off and on for months.   It's very good, and is
pretty much like the original game.  My only (rather small) problem with it-

Hello.  I'm trying to get the latest patch for RTW but when I go to the
total war site  I get a 'server not found' error.  Anyone else having this

Is Sims 2 Any better?29 Jan 2005 18:15 GMT5
I am wondering if The Sims 2 is any better as far as if you still have
to direct your sims for every single task such as going out to the car
that picks you up for work, to going to the bathroom.
The building parts of the game I always enjoyed. It's just starts to

Strat reinstalls after a format27 Jan 2005 20:48 GMT12
Just bicurious about what strategy games y'all reinstall after a HD
format. With all these trojans giving it up the bung to PC users these
days, a LOT of reformats have gone down, and I expect a lot of strategy
games go into the electronic void.  Mostly the newsgroups are a big
What to play after Risk II? Please recommend...27 Jan 2005 20:31 GMT2
I have an oldish laptop (PII) and do not play very much, but recently
got into playing Risk II. But it got a bit boring after a few weeks
(same screen all the time, little variation to the game).
I bought AoE II:Age of Kings second hand and like it but found out I
HOI2 strategy considerations27 Jan 2005 00:11 GMT8
Based on my game with Germany where both the French and the Soviets
attacked Germany in 1939 (see my other HOI2 thread), there are some
interesting strategical considerations as well as their implications
with respect to the issue of realism. Let us consider each country in
Pirates!26 Jan 2005 17:45 GMT70
I surprised there isn't much talk about this game. I'm sure as hell
having a good time with it. Plays almost identical as the original and
very smoothly. Ship battles are very well done. Land battle are pretty
good too.  All in all a very fun beer and pretzels game. Not a ton of

I didnt want to post this in c.s.i.p.g.action as I dont usually frequent
that group and I'd rather get your opinions instead.
Just bought this much acclaimed game, installed it, sure it takes a while to
decrypt the contents and steam is a necessary evil and took a while but
Moving the sims 2 directory OUT of My Documents23 Jan 2005 17:59 GMT5
I've had trouble finding anything on this.
I tend to externally back up my My Documents folder, trying to place
only things that I need to back up in there, and the fact that Sims 2
forces me to put several hundred megs of crap into that folder -- with

Problems with limited screen resolution choices in Games.22 Jan 2005 17:23 GMT1
Command & Conquer Generals, C&CG Zero Hour, Haegemonia all only give me
resolution choices up to 1280x960. The manual for Haegemonia states that a
resolution of 1280x1024 (the native resolution of my LCD monitor - LG
L1720B) can be achieved as long as the GPU has 64 Meg or more ...
