| for those who support "abandonware" | 28 Apr 2004 13:53 GMT | 62 |
This is an article pointed out in the "GNU-Friends" newsletter. Anyone who felt the concept of abandonware was a good one, especially if (like me) the legality still stopped you, this is an item of interest. Gandalf Parker

| If Atari was smart...RE: Total Annihilation | 27 Apr 2004 22:55 GMT | 3 |
They would reissue Total Annihilation in a new box containing Total Annihilation, The Core Contingency, and Battle Tactics. It would feature a new install to the latest patch, but cleaned up without the Boneyards stuff. They would then sign a deal with Gamespy to help

After playing Port Royale, Capitalism 2, Rise of the Nation, Civ, Zoo Tycoon, and others, I'm now looking for a cutesy type of game where I could just lay back and build stuff. Kind of like the Sims, where you can see people walking around and do stuff, and they build stuff. I

| Port Royale is addicting | 27 Apr 2004 02:54 GMT | 29 |
I've had this game for 3 months now, always put it off but now I've been playing it for 3 straight days now. It's pretty addicting. I've played Freelance and Privateer but none of them matches the complexity of this game. The learning curve for this game is pretty steep. You

What's up with 52 consecutive posts with links to every potential topic of interest to anyone who has ever thought about gaming? Is this guy a regular new feature of this newsgroup or a one-time shill for the GDC or his website or what?

| Medieval Mod IV for Total War? | 24 Apr 2004 15:11 GMT | 1 |
While googling for solutions to a MTW problem (can't build more than one military academy as the Turks, which really sucks), I stumbled upon the readme file for the "Medieval Mod IV for Total War v1.1", by Wes. Does anyone here know about it? Is it any good? Are there better mods?
