The game tester: This is the person who tries out the software more then
playing the gameplay. Trying cheats and throwing the game into the basket
when the software is screened. Probably never defeats a game in "difficoult
mode" or possibly to test the AI, only.
RON: Any way to select *all* military units?31 Dec 2003 03:34 GMT4
Im wondering if there is anyway to select say *all* ground military, like
all pikeman at the same time, all archers at the same time etc?
Im not really good at strategy games yet, and I find that just sending in
wave after wave of mass amounts of units usually gets the job done the
RON: Is a real manual downloadable somewhere?31 Dec 2003 02:06 GMT1
Okay, I know Im late getting into Rise of Nations, but it was only $39.62 at
walmart so I picked it up after playing the demo for a couple hours this
morning.
I open the box to see only a flimsy manual, but by playing the demo this

Spellforce comments (long)30 Dec 2003 12:27 GMT14
The last several days I have been playing Spellforce that I bought through
Gogamer (the U.S. version won't be out until February) and I must say that
it is the best combination of RTS and RPG game I have played.  You play from
a totally top-down view, an angled view (different ...
Looking for Starcraft type game30 Dec 2003 11:25 GMT1
I played Starcraft for a year or so and just really loved the
simplicity, yet elegance of the game. I'm looking to play something
with similar qualities including a rich online community. Many of the
strategy games I have tried recently are just too overwhelming. Too

Trying to figure out why I can't make MOO3 work on my laptop it just
spins looking for the CD and doesn't then does nothing.
I tried finding a no-cd crack but no site seems to have them up
anymore.
Railroad Tycoon 3: Industry Question30 Dec 2003 02:45 GMT3
I dont know why,  but I bloody love this game. Its so addictive watching
those little trains steam their way around the country! :)
If one town produces a great deal of say sheep, is it a good idea to place a
textile plant AT that town? Or is it better to place the Textile mill
MoM vs Dominions II29 Dec 2003 21:22 GMT7
Someone recently reminded me of this post. Sorry if it is a return
viewing for some but it seemed worth a thread...
There is also an Illwinter forum at shrapnel games and at Gone Gold. Here
is the shrapnel one...
Rise of Nations online is great!29 Dec 2003 02:17 GMT6
The online community is getting much bigger.  Holiday sales and
winning Strategy game of the year from Gamespot must have helped.  In
the last 30 days, I am notcing twice as many online players.  I now
have a group of about 6 friends that I play with online.  Patch 3 made
Rise of Nations crash29 Dec 2003 01:17 GMT3
I just got Rise of Nations and am having trouble running the game without it
crashing.  I've downloaded the latest drivers for my video card, sound card,
and motherboard, to no avail.  I've even backed off of my video drivers
based on other posts I've seen, but I still can't get it ...
Dom2. Worlds without the borders27 Dec 2003 19:16 GMT2
I'm having a difficulty playing on wrap-around maps, because it seems that
no matter what I'm doing, at some stage I end up fighting with 3-4 races.
On regular maps I would just put some forces on the border with 1 or 2
nations to discourage them from attacking, and concentrate ...

great strategy games for the younger crowd?26 Dec 2003 21:47 GMT28
Our family is finally replacing our 7 year old Windows 95 machine with a
current Windows XP Pentium 4, 2.8 GHZ, 512MB DDR, 128MB DDR NVIDIA GEFORCE
FX 5200 Dell desktop system.
Because of our outdated hardware it has been many years since we
Color Palette Problems26 Dec 2003 21:02 GMT1
In the last day I've tried to play two different games: Age of Empires
and the Falcon's Eye Nethack front-end. In each case I've run into the
exact same problem: the color palettes on the actual game screens are
quite messed up. Inverted or reversed, maybe. There's lots of purple
