The X-Box360 version seemed to get descent reviews, but early
reviews for the pc version indicated that there was alot of
patching needed (bad controls for example). Has the recent
v1.2 patch made any significant difference or is this game still

    I've had this game for quite a while, but the near vertical
learning curve and confusing interface has always kept me from getting
into it. Now I'm trying again. After struggling through the first
couple of missions I'm starting to see what some of the appeal is.

For the next several weeks I am going to have a lot of free time and I have
decided to immerse myself in a 4X Space game.  I thought maybe you guys
could help me narrow down an appropriate game.  I am not a fan of
micromanagement (though I like that option in specific instances.) ...
