Deus Ex - where do you stand?01 Sep 2008 00:41 GMT97
I was interested to read Nos's comment in the Western RPGs thread:
"Deus Ex should be one of the games blamed for the dilution of rpgs into
fps hybrids, NOT lauded as something great & revolutionary"
I've never played it, but I hardly ever hear anyone ambivalent about it.
Could this be used in RPGs? I sure hope so!01 Sep 2008 00:31 GMT19

That is just some impressive technology there, obviously not suitable
to today's computers (I think), but who knows, maybe TES:
Daggerblivion (2012) might use it :)
Finished Mass Effect, Now What?31 Aug 2008 12:44 GMT35
I just finished Mass Effect, which was o.k.  - lots of dialog - but
none of it meant much of anything, and crappy FPS/RPG combat (as
opposed to good like VTMB).  Good story.  I started over, but I don't
think I'm interested enough to go all the way through again or really
STALKER anyone?31 Aug 2008 06:58 GMT7
I am loving this game, it's so atmospheric. Pity about the fact that it
BSOD's my farken computer ever 30-50 minutes. I tried patching it to the
latest I could (1.06 or something), but if anything its worse.
I'm actually kinda pissed off, it seemed to be a great game. But this is
Soulbringer - Corrupt savegames toward the end.27 Aug 2008 10:17 GMT4
Hi, i've played through almost the whole of 'Soulbringer'.
Unfortunately toward the end, the game crashes when i enter new
maps. OK, so staring from an earlier save-game and doing the
different 'OtherWorld'-quests again, but the game starts crashing
Gothic 3: Add-on is being done by an Indian game company26 Aug 2008 19:15 GMT2
Thread on the Jowood site.  Personally, after what Jowood obviously
did
to rush G3 to market, out of greed as much as anything, it doesn't
surprise
What makes an RPG?24 Aug 2008 12:08 GMT62
What makes a game an RPG?
It seems to be a gradual shift of degrees of RPGness rather than a a
simple yes/no question.
After all, there's absolutely nothing a game designer can do to either
Loving LOTRO !22 Aug 2008 22:44 GMT43

Fallout 3 Survival Edition21 Aug 2008 22:25 GMT11
has anyone an idea where to get a Survival Edition of Fallout 3 (when it
comes out) outside the US (and without paying the double price on ebay)?
Tried to order it from amazon.com but they don't want to send it to
germany... *sigh*
Gothic 1: one of the best games I've ever played20 Aug 2008 21:51 GMT5
Amazing. I see the work that went into this game that is the first
of the Gothic series. It is loaded with little tricks and secrets
that are fun to hunt out. Once I realized that, I went looking for
some of them, and found a few.
More Star Trek Online stuff19 Aug 2008 19:21 GMT2
Well, it appears a big chunk of new information is out for the Star Trek
MMO...  Including quite a trailer that shows actual finished gameplay
(according to some interviews I read on MMORPG.com).
As many feared, it looks like it will be concentrating on ship combat
FO3 demo won't install in Vista19 Aug 2008 19:16 GMT20
Seems the tech school coders are still at it.
Pushing canned junk from 10 years ago. There's
no good or bad debate about this stuff. If they
want to do something worthwhile, try something

Ouch. You better have some serious cosplay.
(Just kidding. I think.)
Fallout 3 Hands-On Preview @Bit-Tech17 Aug 2008 05:26 GMT132
I know about Joe (the author); I know his style, and his tastes. I'm not,
but he is a Fallout fan of old and like many on here, he's been
optimistic-but-fearful about FO3.
I haven't read it yet, but he's finally had his hands-on preview, and
