Game companies that listen31 Jul 2003 17:00 GMT2
I ran across this patch for the Law and Order game -- it appears I am not
completely alone in my dislike of time limits in games:
"This patch also will change your Efficiency skill to make the clock count
down 10 times slower than when the skill is not selected. If you are

Zork Nemesis - is a full hard-disk install possible?30 Jul 2003 16:30 GMT17
I'm replaying this game after a five-year gap and enjoying it, but I'd
forgotten how much CD-swapping there is, even with a maximum install.
I've seen tips on doing a full HD install with Myst and Riven; can the
same be done with ZN?
Simon 3D & Windows XP30 Jul 2003 04:29 GMT2
Has anyone successfully run Simon 3D in windows xp? I have tried everything
including installing the version 2 patch nut all I get is a black screen.
The technical support line is a complete waste of time and suggested I
'search the internet for help'.
Infocom Fantasy Collection documentation29 Jul 2003 11:42 GMT6
I recently got my hands on a second-hand copy of Activision's Infocom
Fantasy Collection and I was wondering if anyone could give me a list of all
the maps and extras the set came with? I'd like to know if they're all
there!

Dogday ?27 Jul 2003 02:29 GMT5
I've just won this as part of a bundle on Ebay.
What is it like ?  I can't find any reviews.
Is it rare, crap or both ?
Does it work on XP ?
OT:  Trolls & ID thefts26 Jul 2003 04:56 GMT18
I just want to warn you guys, recently there are few trolls trolling in the
other NG I visited.  They are not only trolling, but also collect our
personal information.  Please don't respond to them!  And btw, they also
pretend to be somebody and use other people's nicknames to fool ...
request for amerzone save game file26 Jul 2003 01:34 GMT1
We are (were) playing Amerzone (DVD-version), but have a problem. When we
reach chapter 3 and walk towards the gate, Amerzone crashes. It doesn't
matter if we do something else before walking towards the gate, like talking
to the priest. We have tried a hundred things to repair it, ...

So did my provider (ATT -> Comcast) just drop the comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.rpg
usenet group, or did the name change or what?  Anyone know what might be
going on?

original cd-holder, no box but like new otherwise.  Not much, $5 plus
shipping would be enough.  Email me if interested.

King's Quest 6 and Virtual PC20 Jul 2003 05:34 GMT2
I've managed to get King's Quest 6 running under VirtualPC 4.3.2, and
although the game runs pretty well the sound is rather stuttery. I copied
the voice files over to the VirtualPC HDD and it improved it somewhat but I
can't completely get rid of the stutter (sometimes whatever is ...
