Worth upgrading my video card (GeForce 7950 GT KO) again?31 Oct 2007 22:55 GMT24
OK. After playing Crysis single player demo, I only got 9-10 FPS with
high settings (I refuse to go lower, did turn off motion blur which
drove me nuts) according to the two batch benchmark files. I just
upgraded my system last December 2006 too! Video card was expensive
Crysis: dual CPU - GPU - ram balance30 Oct 2007 23:59 GMT7
I seem to be lucky or something with my game box.
Like the Crytek article said, it is system balance that
gives best results, and high FPS.

What have you been playing... IN OCTOBER?30 Oct 2007 16:35 GMT11
Ah, Autumn. When the days get shorter, the leaves turn colors, and a
flood of decent PC games hits the shelves. What a great season.
It's time for our monthly thread; you know the how and the what and
the why of this topic, so I'm not going to bother going over all that

Crysis 'oh sh.t, oh sh.t, oh sh.t' moments?30 Oct 2007 09:15 GMT4
We've had the 'wow' moments so what about the 'oh sh.t, oh sh.t, oh
sh.t' moments?
In a firefight, in a building, 5 against.
They shoot out the struts holding up the building and it collapses on
Jericho - Gripes no one else has mentioned30 Oct 2007 07:33 GMT14
Yeah, Jericho isn't the next-coming of horror-FPS games we were
expecting. It's no Undying; with its moronic AI, underpowered weapons,
tiny levels, too-frequent load-screens, 8-hour gameplay and use of
savepoints, there's lots to complain about.
Whoooooeee! Crysis demo is super good.30 Oct 2007 04:26 GMT29
I'm right about the Dx10 cards. They are dropping to software
mode if you run Crysis in XP. Or if you run a Dx9 card in
Vista, it is equally crapping out. This demo runs great on
a Dx9 card in XP. I've got it on a 7900 GTO with X2 4600
Crysis demo benchmarks30 Oct 2007 02:04 GMT13
While busy on this PC I let the games box get bored running benchmarks
for the last few hours. To run the benchmark there are two .bat files
inside the demo/bin32 folder. You set the game to run at the settings you
prefer, then quit and run the .bat files.
Most boring game you've played29 Oct 2007 08:38 GMT43
What are some of the games that you bought and played, and sleepwalked
through all of it while completely awake.  Console games are fine as well.
For me it's definitely Unreal 2.  I was one of the few who actually enjoyed
the first one, so I bought the 2nd one and went wtf I ...
Crysis "Wow" moments?29 Oct 2007 04:58 GMT7
Ok, I just got into a boat for the first time and I can't believe how
realistic the motion is. It ought to be a really stupid effect... I mean,
it's only a bit of bobbing & stuff. But the inertia just feels so 'right'.
Throw in the water effects and it just all made me grin.

Crysis demo - most amazing game ever!!!!!29 Oct 2007 01:41 GMT1
Finally a game that pushes even the strongest PCs to their limits.
This game does EVERY DX9 and DX10 graphic effect in the book and then
some. There simply is no better looking game to date than this game.
Purely jaw dropping!!!
Crysis: What a beautiful game.29 Oct 2007 01:39 GMT33
We've discussed those wonderful but rare "wow" moments in games many
times over the years. My first and probably most enduring memory of
such a moment being when I stepped outside the crashed spaceship for
the first time in "Unreal".
The Witcher is out & about28 Oct 2007 23:44 GMT8
