After a little experimentation and some helpful suggestions from one
or two others in the group, I managed to "commute" my retail version
of the game into Steam.
This is what happened:

I just installed the demo.  I denied the install program access to the
Internet.  When I ran the demo it tried to dial out again.  I had to
give it permission for the game menu to display.
After running the game I get to select skill level.  I then get the

Hoo! Not easy, but fun. Really learned to use stealth walk.
Finally got to Tiger Tank at the Bridge level, and no way
on earth could I finish that level. Even tried god mode

It looks like there are two different campaigns between XBOX and PC/X360, is
this true? If so, good, looks like I may get them both then. Looks like the
XBOX and PS2 versions are the same and PC and XBOX 360 are the same, but

Bit of a nostalgia trip but really had great fun playing through this
