too damned dark to see).  I can't find any other way ...

greatly impressed me on the second go around.  Given how bland Doom3

There is a Golden Eye: Source mod alpha being released on Dec. 25.
There isn't a lot of extra information right now beyond some map
screenshots in the Media section and a video of the Egypt map. The maps
look pretty good. They say they are trying to stay true to the original

For any and all who remember and still enjoy NOLF....

I'm having some really impressive tearing; at the main menu, Kate is a
mess of twitchy polygons that never seem to meet in any such manner so
F.E.A.R will no longer run: "A required security module can not be activated"!30 Dec 2005 05:31 GMT2
I have been running the game for a while now.  All of a sudden, I
can't run it.  I get "A required security module can not be activated.
This program can not be executed"!  I can not think of anything that I
have done that would cause any problems since the last time I ran the

Do you have a new video card in last year?29 Dec 2005 22:23 GMT20
Or maybe a new PC?
If you already have Doom 3, re-install and check out the "Hell" levels

What a difference to when I played it last year/earlier this year.
QUAKE 1st one recommended for real gamers29 Dec 2005 08:24 GMT32
Why not play a 'proper' QUAKE game ? with decent switches and really
funny-stupid monsters ...
The 1st one is pretty good (ONLY 9 years old !) and with the Tenebrae
enhancement engine looks as good (nearly) with shine & gleam as most HL2,
Heavy Gear 2 and Windows XP29 Dec 2005 02:48 GMT12
I've successfully installed Heavy Gear 2 onto Windows XP.  The game
initially refused to play due to lacking the Indeo video codec but I
was able to locate a previous, free version of the codec unlike the
latest version from Intel.  They want $15 for it but you can find Indeo
Call of Duty 2:  Totally full of bugs!!!29 Dec 2005 00:55 GMT23
I've lost count of the number of times I've had to replay missions because
the f.cking program doesn't realize I've finished the mission.  The latest?
Locate the radio in the British mission.  I'm standing right here at the
