HL2 demo, "unavailable"31 Dec 2004 16:50 GMT22
I downloaded the 760MB HL2 demo from ati.com.  When downloaded and
installed, I tried to access the point "play HL2 demo" from the Steam
menu.  However, all I have been getting the last day is:
"This game is currently unavailable.  Please try again at a later

My son received the game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle-Nexus
as a Christmas gift. The installation seemed to go OK, but the game
won't even start - just goes to an all-black screen and crashes the
machine to where it won't even reboot on Ctrl-Alt-Del, we have to turn

I'm persuaded to discard the idea of upgrading this computer at any
time.  I'm pretty much settled on the cpu I think.  I hope to
overclock it from 1.8GHz to 2.5GHz  Total cost is ~$740.00 Canadian.
This is the set up I'm thinking about:

OK, if my non-existing wife would have a creepy VOICE like that, I'd get
a f.cking divorce!  My Christmas was f.cking ruined because of that
bitch!  What happened on Deck 4, I cannot forgive!  No, no!  You did

Riddick Dumbed Down for the PC31 Dec 2004 06:09 GMT52
Well this is sure a new one. I was really excited to play Riddick on my PC
because it really looks fantastic at higher resolutions and it has
quicksaves as well as mouse control. I only got about half way through my
Xbox version and decided to get the PC version instead. I played it ...
Gamespot: Riddick better than HL231 Dec 2004 04:14 GMT17
Wow. I just noticed this -- Gamespot gave Chronicles of Riddick a 9.3
rating, which is better than what they gave Half Life 2!
They say: "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay is one of
those exceedingly rare types of games that delivers exceptionally high
steam: don't ever give up! fight valve to the end!30 Dec 2004 22:09 GMT3
way before hl2 was released, valve stated there should be many anti-steam
why did they knew so many would oppose it even before releasing it?
valve knows they are "invading our territory", some will give up easily
others will fight to the death for what they believe is right
Valve + Steam = Bad Business Decision30 Dec 2004 20:25 GMT17
I'm not here to bash Valve because I loved Valve's games (HL1).  HL1 +
all expansion + Team Fortress Classic gave me many hours of good
entertaintment.  I have been looking forward to have HL2 in my game
collection since the day I completed HL1.  I recently got HL2 (xmas
Myth 2: Old Time Coop30 Dec 2004 17:10 GMT3
Reinstalled Myth 2 for some old time coop and I was thrilled to find that all the levels from
Myth 1 have been converted for Myth 2.  I always thought the Myth 1 levels were just a bit
better than the Myth 2 levels.
Also, a new 1.5 patch allows it to run with no CD along with higher ...
Unsaturated Cravings Of New Games.30 Dec 2004 15:21 GMT13
I have spent alot of money on pc  games and looking back, I hardly
finished any of them, even with the best titles...Always craving for new

itself.
POLL : How many of you resell your games?30 Dec 2004 15:16 GMT39
Me? Never I think (maybe a pint or two from a friend) : I frequently
give them to friend's kids etc.
What kind of % do you get back? I dont think I ever bought a second hand

But oh my, where has The Carmack gone.  I was a true admirer of his engines,
having built many maps for Doom and Quake, and then Quake 2, not just for
