DOOM3 STRAT GUIDE OUT01 Aug 2004 00:40 GMT9
The local EB had the strategy guide out on the shelves today.  I was in a
hurry and only perused it for a minute or two, since I don't like to spoil
the surprise, but I have to say this game looks incredible.  A lot of
variety in the monsters, many more than the screenshots have ...

I just got JO and still learning the controls and maps. It's fun, but I need
more time to learn the bad and good of it to really have an opinion. I

I know there is one guy in this newsgroup that is saying once a Steam
validation has been made on a Steam account, then that game can be
played offline without a Steam connection. But the links below are
from the Steam forum and the guy made screen captures of what happened

Doom3. Ummm...31 Jul 2004 05:08 GMT31
I pre-ordered this months ago on the basic assumption that it was going to
be "DOOM"  part 3.
From what I'm reading here and elsewhere, the only similarity with the
original DOOM will be the monsters names and the weapons .
BF1942 Secret Weapons of WWII confusion31 Jul 2004 00:43 GMT4
I'd appreciate someone clearing a couple things up for me regarding the
Secret Weapons expansion pack for BF1942.  First of all, I was very
surprised to see that installing Secret Weapons - with its 1.45 upgrade to
BF1942 - wiped out all my BF1942 saved single-player games.  Is that ...

Just finished Thief 3 - WOW.  This is an amazing game and the the
ending cutscene was just amazing.  Great writing, great AI, great
graphics, great sounds,  and totally amazing level design, especially
the architecture of it all, especially the City levels.

Hehe, inspired by my biggest boss thread; which FPS game had the smallest
end game boss?
That Quake 2 robot was pretty pathetically little, as was his icky son.  :D
Games based on id engines30 Jul 2004 12:29 GMT49
It's time for a completely pointless post.
Here are some of the games that were based on id Software game
engines. I, very likely, am missing a few so feel free to add more to
the list (if you care, that is).
