Half-Life Graphics Question16 May 2004 21:16 GMT3
I'd appreciate any help as I am helping my friend out.
I was playing Natural Seleciton and I always have this "lighttexture"
problem, where I can only handle 324 luxels and some maps exceed that value.
I don't know how to get rid of the problem, anyway I can?
carnivores- why never a sequel?16 May 2004 19:04 GMT14
Remember this game?  OK, it is a hunting game but I can see it appealing
to non-hunters, particularly the types that have watched too much Jurassic
Park (like me).  I just think this is ripe for a sequel, or a copycat.
Carnivores Cityscape was a big disappointment.
Far Cry addon pack?16 May 2004 10:37 GMT1
Most have finished the game and want more. Anyone hear news of a mission
/addon pack for FarCry?
FarCry team has a lot of job security nowadays: 64bit version, addon
pack(hopefully), FarCry2, patch for FarCry1 and PS3.0 patch.

I installed the original gothic1 and then call of duty, and both games try
to default to this audio driver "Miles Fast 2D Positional Audio". as far as
I know I don't have any device that matches this, as I have a SoundBlaster
live value card, a Logitech webcam pro and a digital ...

Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude Impressions15 May 2004 17:32 GMT5
Though he has not made an appearance in an adventure game since 1996,
Leisure Suit Larry remains one of the iconic characters of PC gaming.
The amorous adventures of the lovable loser of a lounge lizard were
popular with gamers due to the combination of bawdy humor and the

[OT] no onboard sound - Soltek SL-75MRN15 May 2004 13:39 GMT3
Posted this over in the mainboards group, but it's pretty quiet there and I
know there are some serious tweakers here, so...
I have a Soltek SL-75MRN Nforce2 motherboard on which the onboard sound
seems not to be working. I have enabled it in the BIOS and loaded the

I didn't want to believe it, but :

games.
Water in FPS games15 May 2004 09:52 GMT12
So okay, Farcry's water looks terrific, and there's hope for Half-Life
2, but I'm wondering when game designers will ever implement really
dynamic water in their games.
I've seen games where players can be swept away in a river, which is
Thief:DS hands-on preview in PC Gamer.15 May 2004 06:18 GMT2
They say that it's nowhere near as radical a reworking as DX:IW, and that
despite many nods to accessibility it's basically the same game.
Hope they're right!
Official HL2 E3 video.14 May 2004 22:13 GMT10
There seems to be 3 box designs. I wonder will anyone be fanboi enough to
collect all three?
Alpha Black Zero ain't half bad14 May 2004 20:12 GMT2
Finally finished the demo. Its like a poor mans Unreal2 with 4 AI
squadmates playing coop by your side.
Stupid of them not to include a readme file to show all keyboard
commands cause the cool thing is commanding the AI and taking control of
why so many cutesy wootsy games?14 May 2004 18:48 GMT8
Cutesy wootsy games give me a rash.  It's not because they're typically
nonviolent, I don't have a problem with that.  Rather, because the artistic
style is so often homogenous.  It's like if it isn't gonna be violent, it
has to be Sesame Street, and the same kind of Sesame Street ...
