| Thief III: Kasavin's review @ gamespot | 26 May 2004 23:23 GMT | 11 |
Nothing terribly new here. He gave it 8.3 out of 10. Cons: * Poor character animations, risable ragdoll physics; * small levels, frequent loading, especially in "the city";

F**k off to an RTS newsgroup with that, I hear you say. But wait! Since you can manually control all units it falls under the action category too IMO. I like it, and the only two RTS games I ever played were Dune II and the original C&C. Great GFX, explosions, blood sprays and so on ...

| Painkiller: way better than I thought! | 26 May 2004 17:39 GMT | 23 |
Given all the comparisons between Painkiller and Serious Sam (a game I thoroughly disliked), I wasn't expecting much. But having played through most of the first Painkiller demo, I gotta say it's a blast! Great graphics and sound effects, some genuinely scary elements, and non-stop ...

| OT: Recommendation for video card upgrade | 26 May 2004 08:02 GMT | 20 |
I'm on a limited budget. Can only afford SGD$270-300 (USD$160-200). I currently have a GF4 4200Ti 64mb. I was thinking of upgrading to a DX9 card that's within my budget and is faster than my current card, thus eyeing the 5700 series. Does it really offer better performance than ...

| Is Nvidia going to leave 98SE/Me users out in the cold? | 26 May 2004 07:59 GMT | 39 |
I'm thinking now my next purchase may be Nvidia just because ATI decided to leave 98SE/Me users out in the cold. Does Nvidia have any current plans to stop making drivers for 98SE/Me? And just to head off the XP fan-boys/boneheads out there: I use 98SE for games,

Sorry, I've been away from the scene for a while. Whatever became of this project? Did Big George ever come clean about what went wrong? Or is he still saying "when it's done" ? Any articles or interviews?

| $25 SB Live LS made huge difference in Far cry performance, quality | 26 May 2004 07:38 GMT | 10 |
My Gigabyte motherboard's on - board sound is supposedly a Soundblaster 128 chipset, so I have been reluctant to replace it. But sound problems were common in many games, and I was getting crap vid performance in Far Cry as well.

| UT2004 general protection faults | 25 May 2004 22:31 GMT | 11 |
UT2004 keeps crashing at random times during gameplay. It usually just puts up the bluescreen of death, but yesterday when it happened (thrice), I finally saw a little dialog box that said "General Protection Fault". Here are my specs, I've been through uninstalling and
