Whatever the values I give to Music Volume and Announcer Volume, they
don't change and are played always at the same level value. The
exception is Sound Effects, which follows the value I set.

I've installed Unreal Tournament (GOTY) on my (Gentoo) Linux box. There
are a couple of strange things that happen; for instance I've changed my
User.ini file for French language but only the announcer and menu are
French. While playing, texts are still English (i.e. HUD, ...

UT2004: Happens all too frequently. In fact, I can crank up the headphones
to definitely hear if I've "Locked up". I end up 3-finger saluting,
restarting UT and connect to the very same server, and I'm in.
ALso happens on occasion on just regular maps already on my HD.

I just downloaded the Alien Swarm and Red Orchestra mods and ran their
install programs.  It created a subdirectory for each one in my UT2004
directory but can't figure out how to play them.
How do I play them?

I'm having a really frustrating time in the single player tounement because

I've never made a map for any game before, but I've been playing with the unreal
editor and picking up the basics.  Can anyone suggest some good basic tutorials
on mapping?
I already know about the unreal wiki, but their tutorials are kind of lacking
