I'm playing half-live on Steam. How can I enable cheats. I'm in single
player mode not using for multi-player. I have Win XP so I cannot play any
other way than Steam

I just bought Half-Life Generation pack. This consists of Half-Life,
Opposing Force, Counter-Strike and BlueShift.

I've been experimenting with running some of the cooperative levels that are
available for HL2.
The problem is, I keep getting people from elsewhere who join and bring
their 900 ping with them.

If I already own a game that's recently been offered through Steam, can I
uninstall and reinstall into my Valve folder to take advantage of auto
updates, file integrity checks, file defragging, etc?

I'm currently in the "Vicarious Reality" level.  I'm at the part where you
climb the shaft where the broken elevator is to enter the upper floor.  On
that floor one path is blocked by a "danger" sign the other path leads to an
elevator going down.  I get in the elevator and take ...

I already have a version of Half Life 2 registered on Valve, with my
own username etc. Which reminds me, I need to remember those.
If I then buy Episode 1 second hand, I presumably won't be able to
register it to that account, because it'll have been registered to

The quest has begun on one PC the other still preloading - sigh

My m/board buggered up and knackered my gfx card and my cpu, a great excuse
to get some nice new kit.  Anyway had to reinstall XP and then started to
reinstallall my games because even though they were on my HDD they wouldn't
play.

I just loaded hl on win xp and the game does not run due to compatibility
issues. Is there a patch for this and where can I find it?
