The recent introduction of "popcap games" to Steam has caused a furore over on Steampowered. Any threads criticising Valve for introducing this measure have been closed for "trolling" or just closed with no explanation.

purchased the premium package yesterday, basically the games are unplayable,the sound stammers for about 5 seconds every few minutes. its like the graphics are waiting for the sound to catch up.

I recently installed Lost Coast which seems to run fine, but I'm taking no damage. ?? HL2 & HL2-EP1 run normally with no problems. Advise please. How do I turn off this Lost Coast "invulnerability"?

I signed up with Steam with an ATI coupon (remember those). Then I paid $9.95 to upgrade the account. Since then I have purchased a number of additional games - (love Red October).
