I have an illegal cd of HL2 and it worked well.
I could play it till the Nova Prospekt.
I started the game and see the loading screen and suddenly it kicked me out
and brought me back to the desktop.

I cant run my HL2 Demo that I got from steam, i dont get any error messages!

The new HL2 mod, "Leon's Coastline to Atmosphere," has just been

The other day someone was spraying around what looked like a GIF
animation, but it couldn't have been a GIF file as HL2 doesn't support
it. Could it have been a VTF file then? If so, does anyone know a
utility that would convert to VTF from either GIF or PSD?

Finished HL 2 and now finished Far Cry and was looking for something else,
of similar quality and game play interest.
Any suggestions for a HL2 recommended-spec PC?

I didn't think to save the game, and since the end guy kept
teleporting me (and I was cheating) I don't want to go to the trouble
of killing it again.

I bought HL2 soon after it came out and played it through to the end
(offline mode) then put it in the closet. Recently, I was in a
nostalgic mood and reinstalled it. Steam runs fine, but I can't get the
game(s) to start - when I select one from the menu nothing happens.

Not any shorter than advertised, but I don't think I realized how fast 5
or so hours can go by while gaming.  There's definitely some replay
possibilities, I missed a lot of stuff, there's a stats function that's
fairly comprehensive and I'd like to improve my first go through

Can anybody tell me where to find a readme in English for the Portrait of
Freeman mod?  I am stuck in the part where you fall down the shaft into the
pool of water.

Have upgraded the server and connection... Replaced the Civil War hub
with a super fast switch... "The Rat's Cat House" is up and running...
Log on and see if the ping warrents a blood bath.... :)

I go one way and I get electrocuted and I go the other way and I get steamed
to death.

Does anyone know where the audio for the spent brass cartridges and shotgun
casings can be found? I can locate each weapon, it's "deploy", fire,
silencer (where applicable) and reload audio, but not the sounds for the
empties hitting the floor. I think there is a standard audio ...
