I was told by game companies going totally to downloads via the net
using broadband or high speed that by not using dristriution via
retail outlets or a distributor the game companies will be able to
offer the games cheaper online... by cutting out distributors...

well all incase you have not heard yet about 3 or 4 weeks ago valve
vu games which is the parent company settled their law suit over
distribution rights... it was about to go to federal trial when vu
sierra accepted valves out of court settlement.. in which vu/sierra

yep, runs a lot smoother since I increased my systems memory from 512meg to
1 gigabyte.
the sound hesitation is gone and running everything in the high range. Got
all the eye candy now.

Some time ago someone posted an advice on improving the performance of HL2.
The advice said to disable fast writes in the BIOS. Can anyone tell me more
as to where exactly find this feature? Or if it goes under a different name
sometimes?
