4.5 gigs of HD space?31 Dec 2004 23:14 GMT25
Does HL2 really take up 4.5 gigs of hard drive?  That can't be right.  I
don't have that much room.  I already have steam will that matter?
Thanks
HL2 problems31 Dec 2004 22:05 GMT14
When playing HL2 (collector's edition), the game plays fine for 10 - 15
minutes, then hangs and quits to windows, then shows some kind of memory
related error. All my other games including Need For Speed Underground 2
play fine, with no such problems.

HL2 demo "unavailable"31 Dec 2004 13:10 GMT7
I downloaded the 760MB HL2 demo from ati.com.  When downloaded and
installed, I tried to access the point "play HL2 demo" from the Steam
menu.  However, all I get this error message:
"This game is currently unavailable.  Please try again at a later

Question for Valve: just how long is one second?31 Dec 2004 07:26 GMT7
Damn, these boys know so little about math, it's a wonder they are able
to make a game like Half-Life at all. BTW, I have a new name for VALVe:
MANCUNTe. I know it seems like I have too much time on my hands, but
you're right. I have lots of time, according to MANCUNTe. A quick
new card & it still won't work31 Dec 2004 06:45 GMT7
i have the same problem now that i did with my old card.
i upgraded my old 4200ti (64mb) to a 6600gt (128mb).
i reformatted and installed only the drivers which came with the card.  i
thought this would now resolve the problem i had previously, but it hasn't

[OT] - The other day....31 Dec 2004 01:17 GMT3
The other day I came home and was greeted by my wife, dressed only in
very sexy underwear and holding a couple of short velvet ropes.
"Tie me up," she purred, "and you can do anything you want."
So, I tied her up and went fishing.

I am asking you as a fellow Saugus, MA resident where the cheapest source
for HL2 is that you found (have seen it at Best Buy and C City for $40.) I
am a virgin as far as the Half-Life series is concerned. My wife gave me the
HL-Platinum  collection for Christmas. Tomorrow is my ...
Got it to run on a 32MB Geforce2 MX (might be some slight spoilers)31 Dec 2004 00:44 GMT9
Good lord, I guess this game really will run on anything.  I was primarily
testing whether or not my hl2 backup DVD-r that I made (backed up via steam,
not a pirated copy) would work in the event that I ever needed to use it.
Well, once it was on my old system, I figured "what ...
OT: US PS2 games in the UK?31 Dec 2004 00:40 GMT11
Does anyone know if I can buy US PS2 games and play them on a UK
console/TV? Or does it require modifications...

OT: The Incredibles30 Dec 2004 06:51 GMT25
I've just been to see it this evening, and it's the best damn movie I have seen
in ages!  Absolutely fantastic!  The animation is superb, the acting is first
class, the characterisations are well drawn (particularly in the scenes of
everyday home life with a superhero family), and ...
