I have not bought the expansion yet but am considering it, here is my
questions.  I have all but the Assualt unlocked in regular BF2, if I get the
Specail Forces expansion will I get to unlock weapons right away because of
my point toal already?

I just started playing last night on SF. The one night map I played on was
TOO dark. Even with the night vision I couldn't even see the ground or
enemys in the dark areas. Is there a gamma adjustment somewhere in a config
file I could mod? I'm running an x800 with 16pipes and ...

coop and AI locked out by the new BF2 patch,
also the mod scene is badly affected.
that is a nasty move by EA, DICE are just following orders,
how happily is anybodys guess, but EA own them totaly.

I purchased online and did the ea tool to download, it said 8hrs to download
1gb, so I let it go for a while and went to sleep. this morning it said it
was complete but only 1/3 of the bar was full and it failed(of course) on
install. I got 6mb pipe, i could download this in less ...

so what are the maps like in BF2:SF like then?
anybody fancy writing some reviews of them here?

As a community, the BF:World has been totally screwed by EA/DICE by
their last three BF titles.

Does anyone use a free Usenet server? (one that will actually allow posting)
I would like to post in the battlefield group, however EarthLink does not
carry this group, and according to their website that are not adding new

For some reason the ping to all but a few servers are quite large and the
top ones are all in Europe.

Decided to hang on buying SF online, so thought I'd go into an actual shop

I have lost my cd for BF2 and havnt played it in a number of weeks and want
to know if I buy the Special Forces add-on pack can I play it with that CD?
This would be a lot cheaper for me than replacing the original CD...very
frustrating....
