My computer freezes when server changes maps06 Apr 2004 15:43 GMT2
I have seen a few help requests for this problem but nothing more that
requests for more info as replies.  Anyway, I have to alt+F4 as soon
as I see the msg, 'Loading...please wait' , otherwise my computer will
lockup hard by the time the 'Connecting to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' dialog
BFV issues - get real.06 Apr 2004 09:52 GMT21
Obviously there are a few bugs, but nothing to actually stop you
playing the game.  I've played BF:V a few times online now, and quite
a lot SP, and if you are happy to turn down the graphics/sound detail
a little bit, it runs fine.
BFV: Poor sound quality 06 Apr 2004 06:06 GMT2
I've got my copy of BFV for a few days now. The game is running fine, but
only the sound quality is horrible. Gunshots and explosions sounds like the
fart of a midget. Strange enough, the sound of the voices over the radio,
music in cars and the engines are ok.
BFV not so lush and green06 Apr 2004 02:23 GMT19
I decided to check out how trees and grass affect hiding in BFV. After doing
some research, I found that the BFV graphics engine only renders low grass
and bushes near the player. Try this. Get a kit with either a pair of
binoculars or a sniper rifle. Pick out a hill about 100m away ...
Help! Forgotten Hope CTD!05 Apr 2004 17:53 GMT3
I d/l forgotten hope .6 both the files required and the .61 patch. I
did a fresh install no old remaining fh files. I get nearly the level
all the way loaded then crash to the desktop with no messages. I have
also tried it without the .61 patch still no go. I really want to play
Booby traps / mortars...05 Apr 2004 11:16 GMT15
Has anyone used booby traps or mortars to any real effectiveness?
Seems like every game I play, I end up playing NVA to help balance the teams
('cause everyone joins the US... I need to play on autobalance servers!).
But no one really uses the booby traps, and calling for a target ...
BFV "server connection problems"05 Apr 2004 03:50 GMT3
I am kicked by EVERY server I play on eventually. Sometimes I can last 10 or
15 minutes, other times it's more like a minute. My drivers are updated, my
virus/firewall proggies are turned off, the graphics are all slammed to
minimum even though I have a Radeon 9800, my ping is ...
Mod review/rating site?04 Apr 2004 18:47 GMT1
Hey guys, I am looking for a site that has bf1942 reviews and ratings, know
where I can find one?  I've been relying on planetbattlefield, but
unfortunately it appears to just have descriptions.

This is one hell of a good mod. THe maps are lovely, the weapons are
good, ( the rifles could use a spot of work), and the aeroplanes are
dead on, do anything other then dive and you start losing speed, no
parachutes either! dog fighting near the ground is quite hazardous....
OT:Das Boot and German Navy04 Apr 2004 04:39 GMT21
Thanks for the recommendation of "Das Boot". I just watched it and agreed it
was a remarkable movie. The knowledge was new to me that U boats were
actually kinda pathetic because German's support to U-boats by surface ships
and air cover was so thin. I read a long time ago that ...
BFV Online Play Problem04 Apr 2004 02:34 GMT6
I purchased this game a week ago and attempted for the first time to play
online last night.  While trying to join the server I received an error
message that states my CD Key is invalid.  I tried once more and received
the same message.  Correct me if I am wrong, but if the ...
Bad FPS on Low-End Cards in BFV? -- Disable TnL!03 Apr 2004 18:24 GMT1
BFV is an extremely demanding game, especially for systems with lower
end video cards. Currently, I'm running a GF3 TI200 overclocked on my
Barton 2500/NForce2 system.
While my rig may be up-to-date, the card is showing it's age badly. It
OT : PCI Latency03 Apr 2004 15:35 GMT2
Has anyone here ever adjusted PCI / AGP card latencies in an attempt to
correct problems with BF or other games? I ran across an interesting little
ditty about this :

Battlefield Vietnam................can you create your own songs to play?03 Apr 2004 15:26 GMT1
I love this game but am curious as to if you can convert a mp3 to a
bic file or the format BFV knows. I see two folders named "music" in
the BFV directory. What are these folders for? I would like to play
some of my songs while in BFV-MP combat.
Funny Moment in BF194203 Apr 2004 11:41 GMT2
(sorry for the duplicate, I originally meant to post in this
newsgroup.)
After sinking the enemy aircraft carrier in Coral Sea, I heard someone
radio call:
