Has anyone on this newsgroup heard of DoomRL?
It's basically a port of Doom over to an AscII graphics system and changed
the ruleset to something compatable with similar games in the genre (e.g.
Nethack).

I've noticed that when you mix mods together, the results are unpredictable.

Yes, this has to be the dumbest request in mankind, as everyone with
non-warez RoE will most likely have an original version of Doom III, you're

I'm seriously thinking of picking up an LCD monitor (a 19" or 22"
Samsung). Would any of you care to wiegh in on your experience with
LCDs? How do games like DOOM and UT look and work with them? I've read
in the past that there's a noticable lag with some models. Any input

 I installed the game and the patch....but each time I click on the desktop
icon , it brings up the creature guy pic then sits there for about 20
seconds then up pops a msg that says "cd/dvd emulation software
detected...blah blah blah"

 As I stated in my other post... I am getting this msg when I try to start

When Doom 3 was installed originally last year, I believe the CD was always
required to be in to run the game.
Since installing RE, it appears the the CD is no longer required in either
Doom or RE? Has anyone else noticed this?

I have Doom3 original. Does RoE require a new CD key, or can I use the one
from Doom3?

I've got Doom3 here (came with gfx card). I, as have many, hoped for that it
would be big online etc.
Doom3 obviously never took off online.
But now RoE has 8 players online and CTF.

I am a little way into this game and I need to know how this heart thingy
works in gameplay. Can it be used as a weapon, like the Soulcube in D3?

Damn this game is the sh.t!!!...I am getting by slowly but surely on Marine
mode and loving the hell out of it. This was my main reason for getting the
