Another Newbie Question26 Feb 2005 20:34 GMT3
I have an GeForce FX Go 5200 (on a Laptop) with 64MB of memory on a 3GHz and
1MB of RAM but the game scrolls and I cannot play it even on the lowest
video settings.  I am not sure if there is a patch for the software.  I have
a similar system on a desktop, MSI FX 5200 on an ...
Doom 3 cheats24 Feb 2005 23:07 GMT5
I'm sorry if this has been covered before, but I can't find a
solution.  I'm trying to activate the console by pressing Ctrl+Alt+~
during a game, but nothing happens.  I'm running Doom on a PC, with
windows XP and I'm in the UK.  Can anyone offer any advice how to
Quake 2 without CD?24 Feb 2005 19:43 GMT4
Does anyone know how to play Quake 2 without a CD?  None of the install
options will allow me to do this, and the No-CD Patch I found says that "the
exe file is already patched".  Any suggestions?

Finally... the Marine makes it to Hell :) My thoughts on the first half of Doom322 Feb 2005 01:48 GMT6
Despite the obvious nuisances... and I think they were meant to be
exactly what they are.... nuisances, hindrances to an easy success... my
Marine finally arrives in hell.  Yeah, I've played it slow.  About an
hour at a time.  Once a week.  Maybe twice.  Remembering to save after ...
off topic question19 Feb 2005 15:31 GMT10
Can anyone recommend a good 1st person shooter that doesn't need a 3d
card? I used to have Doom 2.  thanks
Doom 3 shotgun19 Feb 2005 11:55 GMT5
I'm just wondering if the Doom 3 shotgun is a sawed-off shotgun.
Have you ever looked at the spray pattern? It's like at 10 feet there
is a 5 by 3 foot spray pattern. No shot gun sprays that wide.
DOOM3, Hello Kitty, and you19 Feb 2005 04:53 GMT2
I DLed the Hello Kitty flashlight mod and when I extracted it there was
already a PAK file with the same name as the hello kitty file, so I
renamed the hello kitty mod and it doesn't work. Has NE1 else
encountered this and found a work around?

Copying Doom play disk15 Feb 2005 14:32 GMT30
Has anyone had success in copying the Doom III play disk (disk 1)??
If so, what program did you use?  I've got Sonic Record Now v.9 (which
came with my new Dell XPS) and so far, it sucks.  Likewise,  Adaptec
CD Creator 4 on my other confuser has been unable to duplicate it.  I
Using Custom Doom WADs?15 Feb 2005 00:40 GMT25
With Doom1 or Ultimate Doom, how do I use Doom WADs from the Doom for
Windows Launcher?
Does it make a difference which one I use? Do I load the WAD as a custom WAD
& then load (none) for the "Game WAD file"? Does it make a difference which

Anyone playing online with the Doomsday engine?09 Feb 2005 20:31 GMT1
I use Doomsday to load my Doom WADs... and noticed it has a pretty handy
online interface. But when I attempt to update the server list from the
only Master URL I know (the one that's there by default,
www.doomsdayhq.com), there are no games. Does anyone play this anymore?
Doom on LCD monitors?08 Feb 2005 19:54 GMT3
I'm thinking of getting a fast LCD to replace my dying CRT.  How does
Doom3 (or other new games) look on an LCD at non-native resolutions?
For example, if I have a 17" 1280x1024 but run the game at 1024x768 or
800x600.
