I used to have D/D2 and now I want to play them again, however, I have
long lost the disks. where can i get these games, even shareware will
do, other than idsoftware.com? id's site refuses to work for me for

What made Doom and Doom 2 great is the single player with cooperative
multiplayer allowing even new players into a world of online games.
No cooperative will in my humble opinion cut 3/4 of it's potential market.
That is conservative.

Can anyone tell me why, when I change resolution (win.ini file) while
running GL Doom, from 640x480 to 1024x768 or 800x600...the game doesn't use
the whole screen. 640x480 is fine. 800x600 uses about 1/2 the screen &

Ive just tried jDoom and its great.  However when i try and use an old
WAD (eg ledges.wad) it bombs out with an error: R_FlatNumForName:
FLOOR0_5 not found
Ive tried a number of wads and they all bomb out with FLOOR_XXX not

With so many ports available (zdoom, jdoom, prboom, etc) What do you
think is the best one for running under XP?  And why?

I cannot get my optical mouse to work on Doom or Doom II.   New
machine with XP Pro.  1gb Memory.  256mb graphics.
Any help would be appreciated.
