I recently changed my video settings to Widescreen from Normal. Now I
just get a black screen when I try to run the game. I even tried
reinstalling.. no dice. Please help me restore my video settings back
to normal.

...why the water tower on cs_assault changes position depending on which
street it's viewed from?
If you're in free-roam spectate mode, and move sideways along the railway
line watching the tower, you can see it jump.

I have tried everything to fix my packet loss problem within Counter
strike
even when pinging the same server i play on i get no packet loss
however when i play in game im getting loss and its impossible to play
