Something I cant understand, in some games if I manage to build the UN
I get the option to go for a diplomatic victory and in some games I
don't have the option.
Is there something I am doing wrong or am I missing something

I know I should move on but I'm cheap.
Installed Civ III on new machine and added the 1.29f  patch DL'd from
Civfanatics.com.
However I don't have some of the goodies like automated worker functions.

I'm referring to the symbol used to denote research in Civ4:

In vanilla Civ4 (and presumably in the expansions), how does a nuclear
meltdown occur? Is it per-turn possibility, and if one happens, is it
announced at the beginning of the turn? What are the effects of a meltdown?
Is it similar to fallout?

ISTR reading that BTS added a mod to play out something like the Lord
of the Rings, with elves, orcs, etc. Just got Civ4 Complete and
installed Warlords and BTS, and don't see any mod or scenario that
looks like what I'm looking for.

Can mods from Warlords be played in BTS, or only in Warlords?
When I start up BTS and go to open a game, I can see all of the BTS
mods, plus the ones from original Civ4, but not the ones that came
with Warlords.

When I try to load this mod, the game restarts. Once it does, I select
single player. The option "play game" on the next menu isn't available.
So, I'm not able to play the mod. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I suspect the civilization 3 conquest bink player sometimes crashes when
loading the atari logo.
Is it possible to disable this logo...
If so how ?

I've been playing Civ IV a couple of weeks now and have not seen any,
but I don't know if that is just the scenario I have been playing, or

Well just finished 1st 3.17 game - Noble difficulty.
Played Victoria (English) and wow she rocks - financial & imperial.
The imperial trait is great - fast production of settlers and 100% on great
generals.

I know that when an auto worker builds a fort on a resource you get
access to the resource but I decided to check if it was the same as if
you built the proper improvement instead of a fort
I waited till the auto workers had built some forts and then checked
