Firstly thanks to all in this group for all the hints and tips you have posted which allow me to enjoy the game more A question on average how many farms would you build per city and how many workers per city

I build a city on the coast. It's got 1 fish resource. I build a workboat and go to the fish resource and then build a fishing boat out of the workboat. All is good. What about all the other ocean squares? Totally useless or did I miss

The manual that comes with CIV4 Gold Edition states that the complete manual is on disc 3. There is not a manual there. How do I get to it?

1) A worker can build a 'cottage' that expands. What good is it? 2) I built a workboat and as soon as I moved it into the sea it jumped right back into the city. What gives there? Thanks
