Map of USA30 Dec 2006 03:01 GMT1
Does anyone have a map of USA for Warlords that I can download? Medium
or large doesn't matter. I like to play on terrain that I'm familiar
with.

warmonger vs builder23 Dec 2006 14:47 GMT14
These seem to be the two extremes among players. Now, from many posts I
get useful tips but they all seem to rely on detailed knowledge of your
units/cities.
I think of myself as an extreme builder. By the year 1900 I

Civ4 - Tribal villages22 Dec 2006 04:36 GMT8
Is picking up a tribal village with your cultural influence expansion
equivalent to picking it up with a scout unit? Or is it just equivalent to
picking it up with eg. a warrior?
Thanks
Civ4 : How large is your typical unit stack?21 Dec 2006 03:09 GMT18
I'm a builder, not a warmonger, and in previous civs I relied on a
late-game blitz with loads of units of a single type (generally tanks).
But the new combat/promotion system works against this AFAICS.
So, how many units would you recommend a stack should be?
Civ 3: How good are automated workers?18 Dec 2006 18:29 GMT17
I've had great success with handling early exploration with 5-8
automated warriors. They just zip around the map, primarily in the
direction of the "shroud". Occasionally I do have to intervene to
"activate" a warrior who is not exploring, and (G)o him to a more
Civ4 - no map editor?13 Dec 2006 13:20 GMT5
Is there no equivalent of the one in Civ3, where you could change game
rules, civilization starting characteristics, etc.?
World Builder doesn't really seem to be equivalent.
Civ4 : checking units by city?11 Dec 2006 22:45 GMT6
AFAICS there's no way to do this without going through them one-by-one?
It was much easier on Civ3 - you could sort units by type, or by city,
making it much easier to find which of your cities need their defences
beefing up.
Most formidable opponent?11 Dec 2006 13:49 GMT8
Which leader do you least like to find nearby?
In Civ3, in Civ4?

Civ 3: Courthouse in capital city?10 Dec 2006 02:06 GMT8
Is there any advantage to building a courthouse in one's capital city,
besides the increased propaganda resistance?
I seem to be researching very slowly, early on, so I quickly run out of
things to build in my capital.
civ3 combat questions08 Dec 2006 22:18 GMT2
I played the original Civ 3 in 2002, a little bit, and now I've started
playing Civ 3 Complete. But there are a few things that the manuals do
not seem to address:
1. What is the defensive bonus given to a Fortified unit? IIRC it was
[Civ3] Exhausting Strategic Resources08 Dec 2006 09:24 GMT10
I found out the hard way last night that some resources can be
exhausted and disappear (didn't even have enough coal to run a single
line to link the 8 cities I had).  Pages 85 & 86 in the manual which
describes the strategic resources doesn't mention that and if the

How many of us here have been playing Civ since the original game came
out?
Can you remember just how amazing Civ1 seemed at the time. :)
Civ 3 Pollution Reduction05 Dec 2006 16:50 GMT14
Just got Civ3 Complete a couple of days ago, despite barely being
able to handle Warlord in Civs 1 & 2. :P  So far, the only things about
Civ3 I find to be inferior to the previous games are:
* Having the techs grouped by Age and not being able to run ahead
Civ4 - any feature you forget to use?05 Dec 2006 10:00 GMT6
Having only just migrated from Civ3, I tend to forget to use cottages
and civics.
Also, I've rarely used submarines in any version of Civ - as a builder,
I just seem to have little use for them.
