| n00b question... | 26 Sep 2006 23:41 GMT | 2 |
I just got Civ III, and I'm playing as Americans, I've got 5 cities, and I keep getting the message- you're running dangerously low on gold. What should I do to remedy this? Thanks in advance!

| Compared to Civ III, IV is SLOW to play | 26 Sep 2006 06:37 GMT | 11 |
A couple of questions, more may follow. 1) Is it possible to speed up the game build times. 20 to 40 turns to build first settler? It's ploddingly slow in building anything. Booooooooring. 2) How does one get the game to automatically centre on the active unit?

| A "few" questions | 25 Sep 2006 17:49 GMT | 11 |
Thanks for letting me know that this is the place for CIV4-players as well. Nice! Now I can't wait to pop out some questions which puzzles me as a newbe:-) I guess there are no straight answers to most of them, but I am sure that you guys have some ideas/secrets anyway ...

| "Frank Kafka" | 25 Sep 2006 15:18 GMT | 3 |
This is of course a very minor point, but one of the great artists in Civ IV is a certain Frank Kafka. Unless this is the name of a jazz musician I haven't heard of, it must be a rather funny typo for Franz Kafka, the famous novelist who wrote "The Trial" and "The Castle". I hope ...

| CIV4 - is it here? | 21 Sep 2006 21:44 GMT | 25 |
I recently started to play CIV4 and wonder if I have come to the right group? I see some CIV4 comments in here but the title of the group could have fooled me... If you know a group specifically made for CIV4, pls let me know - if not I'll see you around. Thx:-)

| Annoying feature in Civ IV | 19 Sep 2006 09:54 GMT | 11 |
In all earlier versions of Civ, if your country was invaded the comoputer centred on the invading troops. Now you have to chase around the map lookign for them. I call that *very* annoying, and they should do something about it.

| Losing Cities in Civ3 | 16 Sep 2006 18:19 GMT | 2 |
I'm new to the game. I am losing cities without a fight. Even though I have several riflemen and or Longbowmen, the enemy seems to be able to ride in on a cavalry and take the city. They are also able to capture my seige weapons easily.

| Trade advisor during trade with other leaders | 15 Sep 2006 20:26 GMT | 4 |
In CivIII there was this nice guy in the upper right of gthe screen who told you if the other leader would like or dislike the proposal you're creating ("they probably will take this offer as an insult", "we're getting close to an agreement" etc). Now, I have read on this NG that ...

| Can't Install Civ3 | 13 Sep 2006 11:24 GMT | 1 |
My PC locks up when I try to install Civ3 complete. My CD drives work on other programs. In fact I can access the MP3's on the Civ3 disks. I have tried to select the .exe from explore. I have tried Run

| Aggressive Barbarians | 12 Sep 2006 14:55 GMT | 8 |
Is it just my imagination, or have the barabrians become more numerous, active and nasty in Warlords than in the vanilla version of Civ IV? Seems to me they turn up much earlier and multiply like flies. Öjevind

| Civ3 on Intel Mac | 10 Sep 2006 23:29 GMT | 2 |
Now that I have a MacBook I would like to play Civ III on it and so I want to buy it. As far as I know there is a universal binary patch - does this work with all Civ III versions available for Mac or do I have to buy a certain version?

| I really don't think so... | 10 Sep 2006 17:08 GMT | 14 |
Was having an argument with my dad about British foreign policy (as you do) and the conversation turned to the Falklands. He was taking Argentina's side and saying it was pathetic that we made such a big deal about such a small thing.

| Worlds & maps in Civ4 | 05 Sep 2006 04:00 GMT | 26 |
The main complaint i have re Civ4 and Warlords is the feeling that the space available is less. You never gat huge plains or deserts or very large Mountain ranges. How do you get a map that has both continents and islands?

| Selecting custom civilisations in civ4 | 04 Sep 2006 11:52 GMT | 1 |
Right, first off there's no alt.games.civ4 sorry if I'm treading on peoples toes talking about it here. Second, I've searched but can't find any mention of my problem elsewhere.
