Is this one that works with all versions, or just the US one?

After spending a significant amount of time building a "great" empire I find myself
disgusted with Civ III.  Ground, air and sea combat are all stupidly flawed.  There

Playing civ3 I always end up losing the game because of military
defeat, and this happens at the first city I lose, be it an old and
important city or a newly-established small one.
I have a full army ready to plaster the enemy, so why should I lose

I've read the entire manual that came with the game, I've read FAQs and
guides, I even bought the official Brady strategy guide (which doesn't seem
all that great in my opinion)... but I still don't know what's going on.

I have just bought Civ4 and the names of the cities are display as blue
squares instead of text.
Anyone else seen this? Anyone know of a fix?
I have installed the latest patch but that hasn't helped.
