Can't figure out why the game won't run....30 Jan 2006 23:57 GMT4
No, it's not a pirated copy.
I can't figure out why Civ3 I gave as a christmas gift keeps
giving the error "Original disc could not be found or
authenticated"
Those Silly Americans30 Jan 2006 06:46 GMT54
I had just wrapped up my conquest of the Chinese, crushing them with tanks
and bombers, when the Americans sent two swordsmen on a Caravel to my
continents. Since they came aboard in neutral territory, I couldn't ask them
to leave. As soon as they entered the Shanghai suburbs, ...

Civ3 vs. Civ428 Jan 2006 09:27 GMT40
I used to be a huge Civilization fan way back in early 90s when first
version was released, and played Civ2 quite a lot when it got out too...
but then took a long pause away from this wonderful game.
Anyway, during the hollydays I tried Civ2 again and offcourse, spent the
civ4 on a Pentium-M 1.7GHz laptop?28 Jan 2006 00:33 GMT13
Anyone using Civ4 on a 1.7GHz or so Pentium-M laptop?  I've got a Dell
Latitude D510 that I'd like to put it on.  The specs say "Pentium4,
athlon, or equivalent".  So, for the purposes of this spec, is a Pentium
M, equivalent?
Great Artists as a Weapon25 Jan 2006 17:52 GMT2
I have been playing Civ 4 only since Christmas. Prior to that I was a
great Civ 2 afficionado, didn't like Civ 3 very much. Civ 4 seems much
better, the best so far.
Yesterday I just discovered a use for Great Artists which had not
New World maps in Civ 4 ?25 Jan 2006 02:13 GMT4
Civ 4 manual talks of New World maps - All civs satart on one landmass and
another landmass to the East (or West) is empty and ripe for expansion etc.
I can't find any reference to these maps in the game setup screens..
Am I missing something here or is the manual wrong ?
civ4 rush production23 Jan 2006 21:05 GMT3
If you have the funds can you rush productions of buildings and ships?
Razing Cities21 Jan 2006 17:58 GMT7
Is there some way to raze a city once you have captured it and said no
when answered whether to destroy it? Sometimes I discover that I don't
want a city after all, and I'm not always keen on giving it away to
some other civ.
spies21 Jan 2006 10:54 GMT5

[Civ4] how do u culturally win?20 Jan 2006 21:10 GMT3
Playing on prince i now have the 3 top cities and the culture is over 30,000
in each city with 35 turns to go.
How do they become legendary?
It was quite a struggle having three top cities on prince lvl for me.
Empty Cities16 Jan 2006 17:20 GMT5
I have noticed whenever I take over a city by force, the only improvements
in it are those given by wonders (granaries, barracks and hydro plants so
far). Are the other buildings just always destroyed?
moves14 Jan 2006 00:32 GMT1
Playing this game can be slow so increase the moves.

Work Boats11 Jan 2006 10:32 GMT19
Can someone explain what their use is and how you use them.  I made one in
two different cities, put them on Automate and all they did was sit in the
city.  Later in the game I tried automating them again and they still
didn't do anything.  I can see my sea squares being worked ...
CivIV Internet Multiplayer11 Jan 2006 02:26 GMT7
I hve an ID/PW on GameSpyID.com and can log in w/o problem.   When I
tried Inernet play, by Firewall came up with a few programs trying to
access the internet - I said Allow to all of them, but I get a "A Login
Attempt has failed"  is there some BS with ports that I need to worry ...
