After a re-install.30 Dec 2005 14:37 GMT3
Do I need to install patch 1.09 or can I skip that thing and install 1.52
directly.
I thought I could do so.
Civ 4 / 1.52 patch / wonder movies chopping30 Dec 2005 14:36 GMT5
Game seems fine on my celeron 2.6ghz/XP/512mb/Radeon 9550 256mb but the
wonder movies 'chop' quite badly after the first one (which is fine) - is
this a memory thing? Is there a way of making Civ run the movies off the DVD
instead?
CIV 4 Install problem29 Dec 2005 19:03 GMT4
I've just got CIV4 and it won't even start up on my machine. When I
install it doesn't create a CivilisationIV.ini file or any of the other
linked folders it's supposed to put in My Documents\My Games. In fact
there isn't even a My Games in the My Documents folder!
Civ3 1.20/1.22 patch29 Dec 2005 11:37 GMT2

Civilization® III: Conquests
The latest 1.22 patch says for US versions only where can I find the
euro version?
Civ4: Why build artillery when you have tank?28 Dec 2005 21:26 GMT6
Tank is usually just a small tech step away from artillery. Tank is
stronger, can move faster, can blitz, and can be upgraded to bombard
with collateral damage. Sure artillery is cheaper, but a tank most
likely survive an attack when an artillery doesn't. For defense? I can
XPlay rated the game this week....28 Dec 2005 09:12 GMT6
I watch the show regularly and have found their ratings to be good in
some casews.... not to my liking in others.....
So, for what it's worth, Adam and the Geek Bait Morgan have rated this
game 5 out of 5!
Civ III harder than Civ II?28 Dec 2005 07:17 GMT4
I played Civ III (PC Version) last night for the first time. The
strategies I used to use in Civ II (Mac) no longer work. I had my butt
kicked four times in a row in the easiest mode. My strategies (if you
can call them that) consisted of minimal military presence in favor of
Civ4 is going in the cupboard til next patch28 Dec 2005 06:35 GMT2
Well
Tried a full game with the newest NVIDIA drivers and latest patch, twice the
game crashed and needed a reboot.
Shame really because other then the stupid game giving me a Time Victory
Most useless improvement in Civ428 Dec 2005 02:52 GMT1
Who wants to use off-shore platform anyway. It is harder to defend,
come late in tech, and there is plenty of oil resources on land.
Civ4 should give some bonus to production when one has many resources
of the same type which is required to produce certain units.
Don't Buy Civ4; It is now a Leftist Tool of Propaganda!27 Dec 2005 06:49 GMT53
I am now convinced of this.
Case of argument:
1.. "Liberalism" is now a major focal point of the game as an acquired
civic.
Can't get handle on specialists27 Dec 2005 06:08 GMT16
I've put about 15 hours of gameplay now on Civ4...and I have mixed opinions.
Using specialists seems important to gameplay in Civ4, but I can't quite get
a good handle on things.  Control is very important to strategy games,
elsewise, the game deteriates into mindless clicking.  ...
Pollution26 Dec 2005 23:44 GMT1
I read in another post that pollution is gone.
To me, pollution is that annoying cousin that comes to visit. You wish it
would just go away, but once it's gone, you kinda miss it.
I think the pollution engine needed some work and I never liked it since
Civilization elimination bonus?26 Dec 2005 20:11 GMT3
I recnetly nearly annihilated the English. I attacked with my Immortals
(these guys rock!) and after taking three cities, I offered peace and got
the Queen to pony up all her remaining cities (save for the capital of
course). Now, I found the capital and took it out as well, but ...
Score Affectors26 Dec 2005 17:46 GMT1
In CivIII, which of the set-ups affect the score (i.e. map size, Pangea vs.
cont.'s vs. islands, land percentage, AI aggression, et al). Also, I have
changed the number of turns to 662. Does this affect the score as well?
