I have just re-installed BG ToB on my new PC.  My previous PC ground to a
halt halfway through the game and so I never finished it.
While I was installing the software I noticed that the ToB disc was scuffed
and marked after repeatedly putting it in and out of the CD tray.  With the

Okay, this is a situation I've never encountered before while playing an
un-modded game of BG2.  And I've goggled the problem and have pretty much
narrowed it down to the Sola mod - except the Sola mod read-me (and website)
seems to make no mention of such a change.
