This game has not had the same longevity as the other Infinity Engine games.
I am curious as to this board's opinion why that is so.

in the console game, there is a recall potion that instantly takes you back
to a safe area where you can buy and sell whatever you need, and then go
right back to your spot in the dungeon...do the PC games have this? it was

I just installed the Big Picture Patch. Now, I can't even survive the
first bloody level -- it makes it freaking impossible. Every time I
try to sleep to recover HP, I get assaulted by hoards of goblins or
whatever. I also get a constantly nagging Shadow Thief who poisons

Is there anything in BG2 SOA that will provide permanent modifications to
certain attributes ?  Like say increasing strength or intelligence a couple
of points.  I know there are potions that will boost these things
temporarily,  but was wondering if there is anything permanent ?

is the game manual adequate to help me prepare a character and understand
the game, or should i do some reading first? any good places for a beginner?

decide to import, or does importing your character make BG2 too easy?

when you install the bundle packs of the games (BG1 and tales, or shadows
and throne), does the main game and it's expansion run together so i can't
tell the difference? or will the difference be noticeable?

After months of research, coding, and testing, Barren Fischa, Cliffette, and

I just looked at a map of the Underdark & realize there are 6 other areas
off of it as well.  I'm going to get ALLOT of EXP on this one.  Is this part
ALL of chapter 5 or is there more chapter 5 when I'm done.  Seems like there
was more to the map that still isn't completely ...

I've played BG2 and TOB about 3 times each, and I
