Payware CYVR version????23 Jul 2008 17:03 GMT6
Is there a payware version of CYVR out yet?
I'm amazed a the fact Vancouver International hasn't been taken up by
one of the payware FS design companies.

New view (following on from "Bye bye 16" CRT...  Hello 22" LCD")23 Jul 2008 01:01 GMT1
When I open 'New View' ie. the left '[' button, and in that view i want to
have 'Left Front' view. I can use the hat switch on my joystick or '7' of
the number pad. But that view only stays as long as I hold the switch or
keep the button pressed. How can I keep the 'Left Front' ...
10 worst aircraft ever?22 Jul 2008 22:04 GMT11
An amusing gallery at Wired.com of their ten worst aircraft ever:

I'm no aircraft historian but I have to think that there have been worse ones
than some of these?
FS 2004 Training Flights Problems22 Jul 2008 21:47 GMT2
I am taking Rod's training flights in FS 2004. In the Student Pilot lessons,
I am finding that I cannot finish the Ascents and Decents lesson. I do
everything Rod says... after the turn to the left and descent to 3000 ft,
the banner says "Fantastic. You did well." The lesson then ...
FSX is hosed....now what?22 Jul 2008 21:09 GMT10
Somehow I hosed FSX big time. I get the splash screen, loading screen...and
it freezes. Ok, I can deal with that. I was thinking I would uninstall it
anyway.
Now the question.
Bye bye 16" CRT...  Hello 22" LCD22 Jul 2008 14:25 GMT6
What a difference this change has made. My interest in simming has come back
with a vengance. It's like chalk and cheese. One amazing thing I've found
out is I can now read the taxiway signs. Farewell purple line. Going back
for another flight.
Optimal flight routing22 Jul 2008 13:42 GMT5
I like flying long distance routes - 5000 NM  - and I use Active Sky
real weather.   I'd like to be able to plan routes that minimize the
effects of headwind, like in the real world.   There's some highly
technical information out there on the internet  - example here -

Yeah, we do...  In the USA you can get on line charts from multiple places,
many weather services, on line weather briefings, free services in the air

Off on my regular stay in India early this Wednesday, so won't be
enjoying the posts here until the end of November (when I'm due to
come back to the U.K.).
I'm not by any means the most regular poster here, but reckon I've
FSX Mission Problems21 Jul 2008 22:34 GMT1
Apologize if this is a duplicate post.
Thanks to your help, I got through the Beginner (except for thermal soaring)
and several of the Intermediate missions. I am stuck on two of them: Paris
Airshow and Innsbruck Approach with ILS. I'm not sure how to accomplish low
interest for flight simulators, the rise and fall21 Jul 2008 22:29 GMT17
I have been lurking in those two groups I am posting to, for quite a
while. Funny how things change.
I got my first glimpse of a flight sim back in the Sinclair ZX81 years,
but came to more serious flightsimming in 96 IIRC, with DID's EF2000,

Default weather question21 Jul 2008 00:16 GMT5
Hey, question....  does the built in default weather apply winds at
altitude?
In other words, the wind at the surface is south at 10 knots at 180°and at
7,500 feet it's 22 knots at 120°...  if you're flying at 7,500 feet will
