This flightsim hobby25 May 2008 19:15 GMT98
I was considering aspects of this hobby of ours the other day and what
satisfaction each of us derives from it. In some ways, when looked at
objectively, it is a strange pastime. A critic would say that we sit in
front of our computers and pretend to do something, whereas in most ...

watering, I suppose).  Are they used when taking off and raised when
For google earth users...25 May 2008 17:36 GMT7

If you use GE, please have a look at the three aircraft parked at the
southeast concourse. I KNOW what I saw is not real, but could someone who
Airlines Taking a Hit at the Pumps25 May 2008 15:32 GMT26
Endured my usual depression while watching the NBC evening news last
night, and learned that American Airlines is not only cutting flights
and laying off personnel, but are instituting a $15 charge for each

New Video Card25 May 2008 09:04 GMT5
Well, I went and did it. I ordered a MSI RX3870X2-T2D1G OC Radeon HD
3870 X2 1GB video card for this computer.  It'll be interesting to see
how FSX plays on it.  Of course I'll need to reinstall Vista Ultimate
and switch to a monitor that will take advantage of it's
Helpful site for process ID25 May 2008 04:05 GMT1
I found a great site for identifying startup process and advice on whether
or not to run them.  I've seen sites like this before but they usually only
identify half the stuff you ask them about, this one seems to know them
all.
Nvidia Driver 175.16 for Vista 32 and Fsx.  Found it !25 May 2008 03:56 GMT7
Finally I found out why fsx won't start with the latest Nvidia drivers ,
version 175.16
After many reinstalls , uninstalls and rebootes , using "Driver Cleaner"
etc. As a desperate
Convair 580  (IRL)24 May 2008 10:40 GMT13
Today I had the incredible pleasure of seeing a real Convair 580.
Australian rego   VH-PDV
Where I live it's almost unheard of to see anything more than light aircraft
traffic or the daily commuter (Dash 8) service going to and from Brisbane.

While we sit in front of our computers in the comfort of our homes
flying Chinooks (well I do a lot of Chinook flying) please spare a
thought for those flying in RL. I sincerely wish this video had had a
happier ending.
