Scenario:

I am having issues programming my X52 Flight Control joystick using Saitek's
SST profile software and getting them to match up to the FSX keyboard inputs.
I am running the 32-bit ver of Vista and the Saitek SD6:Beta version
profiler. Any advice would greatly appreciated.

I've recently experienced a problem where events I've assigned to
joystick buttons (flaps, landing gear, etc.) are deleted and buttons
revert back to default settings.
Any thoughts...?

I thought it was a CV 580 I rode on but on further research it was a CV
240. I know it was that type as I remember the passenger stairway being on
the starboard side. From what I know (which ain't a lot!) the CV 580 has the
stairs on the port side.
