Running FS9 on a compressed XP partition ???31 Aug 2007 23:51 GMT12
First and foremost I am not posting this question to ask about
possible performance increases - I know that that subject has been
plastered all over the internet; some say that as Windows has to
decompress files the performance will suffer; others say that as the
Cat III approach31 Aug 2007 22:42 GMT15
Good practice in sim flights.
This is a RL approach.
The thing really noticeable about it is that there does not appear to be one
throttle setting change through the entire approach until after touchdown.

Holiday by the Sea31 Aug 2007 14:33 GMT16
I am somewhat disabled and I finally went on a very short holiday.  It was a
total disaster.  Arrived at the Sunshine Cost in a record-breaking downpour.
Noosa had 715mm in 24 hr.
Walked around (with my walking stick) in horizontal rain.  Finally found
Alternatives to Captain Sim's C-130 engine sounds?31 Aug 2007 12:35 GMT1
Just purchased Captain Sim's C-130 package from Just Flight.
This is a visually stunning experience but aurally underwhelming. The
external engine sounds are a major disappointment. I live under regular
RNZAF Hercules C-130H air-traffic and am thoroughly familiar with the
Fasten your seat belt PING sound?31 Aug 2007 12:25 GMT5
I really like that PING sound that alerts passengers to fasten their
seat belts.  I'd like to use it in windows (for a while at least).
Does anybody know where I can find the .wav file?

Most interesting is the stainless steel shaft and "bearings", maybe they
won't get sticky.  (I wonder if they are cat hair resistant? :-)
My first MSFSX flight31 Aug 2007 05:28 GMT7
Well, I picked a microlite, set the airport for Belfast, Northern Ireland,
and took off! The topography was spot on, I flew from Belfast, over
Ballykinler army base, over the Mourne Mountains, then up the Carlingford
Lough valley, over Newry, then onwards to Craigavon, all the ...

fs2004 stock Be58 trim30 Aug 2007 12:46 GMT8
I have an awful time triming. IRL the Baron is a very stable A/C. Here the
trim wheel has little effect. It atkes huge amount of trim before anything
happens.
I usually use realtr10 but here it has no effect at all. Elevator

FSX in NYC29 Aug 2007 21:46 GMT6
I was trying to stress my computer and I maxed out the autogen and flew
around NYC.  FR's were in the low teens but fluid.  I don't even display
the frame rates any more.  They don't mean a lot until you are in single
digits, at least for me.
Uhm....WOW!!!29 Aug 2007 21:34 GMT8
