FSX DELL XPS M1710 and Vista Ultimate 64 BIT01 May 2007 00:41 GMT2
Hi all, I decided to upgrade from a new high spec dell laptop running vista
32 bit because it would not run windows AERO when I started FSX - I got the
message 'the colour scheme has just been changed to windows vista basic' - I
think the windows experieince score was something ...
Framerate hit when undocking panel window in FSX30 Apr 2007 23:05 GMT2
Undocking an instrument panel window in FS9 and dragging it to another
monitor attached to my system caused no noticeable frame rate drop. Doing the
same thing in FSX causes my frame rate to drop from over 20 fps to 1 or 2
fps. My processor is an Ahlon 64 3700, 3Gb RAM, 4950GX ...
G1000 Direct to Waypoint Without Cancelling Plan30 Apr 2007 19:10 GMT2
Let's say you are on a flight plan IFR and ATC takes you a bit off the plan.
Once you are ready to resume the plan is there a way to direct the G1000 to
take you direct to the next waypoint and then continue on the flight plan.
By default if you hit Nav you are taken to a ...
Book Review; Bruce Williams book on MSFS30 Apr 2007 18:49 GMT2
I recently reviewed the ASA book by Bruce Williams on the use of MSFS as a
training aid.
As there are numerous questions that always arise on the forums concerning
this issue I am posting the letter I sent to ASA concerning the book and the
Software recommendations for video editing?30 Apr 2007 14:56 GMT2
The movies I've made so far have been done using Windows MovieMaker, and
though I'm happy with the results, I've quickly found its limits.
I'm looking for recommendations on alternatives, toward the cheaper end
of the market.  (I can't afford Adobe Premier.)
New PC for FSX30 Apr 2007 14:36 GMT5
I ordered a new PC special for FSX (Intel Core Quad Q6600 CPU and XFX video
card PCI-e GeForge 8800GTX XXX 768MB)
Now my question: Memory will be Kingston 2x1 GB DDR2 SDRAM PC6400 CL4.0

Nvidia Display Settings - What do you run in  the sim?30 Apr 2007 12:33 GMT19
Being a recent convert back to Nvidia, I have been playing around a little
with the 3d settings, on my BFG 8800 GTS card.
I wanted to maybe start a discussion, on what others have found to be the
best settings for them, in the display drivers, for running in MSFS.

No Panel Gauge Display30 Apr 2007 06:09 GMT3
I downloaded a freeware MD-11 from Simmer's Sky.  It's really quite
good, except the panel doesn't have any working gauges.  The displays
are there, but they're blank.  I've tried everything I know.....any
suggestions would be appreciated.
Need a little twin Engine STOL?30 Apr 2007 03:27 GMT11
The Russians have got a pretty cool little guy.  It is the Anotov AN-14
"Little Bee"
Operates in and out of about 100 meters!
Flying empty, you can make the approach at 50 kilometers per hour....that's
Vista30 Apr 2007 01:01 GMT11
Well, Vista is now released, and I couldn't wait.  So I bought a copy of
Vista Home Premium.  I have a 64bit CPU, and so it was a surprise that when
I opened the package it was a 32bit version only.  I read a bit more of the
paper in the package and to get the 64bit version I ...
EZ Landmark and FSX29 Apr 2007 23:49 GMT1
I used to use EZ Landmark with FS9, but I miss it in FSX.
Does anyone know if it can be used in FSX?
Thanks.
