OK - it gets even more bizarre.
I cleaned the old Cats, reinstalled 5.7, and did a fresh install of
F1C.
1280x960 gives 85M Tri in 3DConfig, but FPS in game are still mediocre

I just noticed TrackIR now supports NR2003 with full 6dof.

Long story short:
Had a 9700Pro in my box, Cat 5.6 gave 50+ FPS in practice easily even
w/FSAA. Upgraded drivers to 5.7, but never tried GTR. Just upgraded
to X800XL, now GTR is giving less than half that! Ran the ATI cleaner

I just moved GPL to my ACER laptop and I have the following problems :
1) Game is running at double speed eveyrthing is going at 2X real speed
2) for the moment I'm playing with keyboard and the only active keys I can use for direction and speed control are the function keys ...

I have a Thrustmaster Nascar Charger wheel, gameport type, no pedals.
My problem is this. If the wheel is connected my system won't boot. If I
disconnect it and then boot up then reconnect it it's okay. What causes
this?

I thought that would get your attention :-)
Its true that the author of the speed 7 FF wheel review did mention the West
brothers turning up and powersliding his ferrari 612 with the speed 7 wheel,
but this was in the dream he had the night after testing the speed 7 wheel.

Does the Logitech Driving Force Pro hook up to PC's and does it work
with no problems at all even it's for PlayStation type gaming? This is a
3.20 gig P4 computer.

I have or had a Act-labs wheel and I liked it alot but it stopped. I
have not opened it up yet to find what is wrong. But for now what are
the best or real good wheels and pedals.

I have both NR2003 and NASCAR Simracing. I am what might be called a casual
player. I have not raced for a while and have been thinking about getting
back into it so I have been poking around the various web sites to see what
files, mods, updates and such I need to be up-to-date ...

Did I miss something in the manual (or lack there of), on finding my
framerate? Is there a key that I need to press for this funtion or do I
need a third party software to figure out what the game is running on my PC.
Thanks to anyone who can give me a heads up on how to figure ...
