Steffan Alun - 26 Jun 2009 13:37 GMT The release date for HS in Japan has been announced on the official website - the 12th of September this year.
Anyone considering getting the Japanese version? Or are we all waiting for the English version?
Steffan (still waiting for a Welsh version ...)

I usually only buy one game from each generation, since the other two versions are essentially the same. I also didn't think FL had enough new features to warrant returning to Kanto. I tend to lose interest after beating the Elite Four anyway (or Red, in the case of Silver), especially since I don't really know anyone else in my area that plays. I don't know what it is about HS that piques my interest, though, but it seems like there's more buzz about this than FL.
On an off-topic note, I think Outlook Express only indents short messages now. Or maybe ones where responses aren't interspersed among the quoting. All I know is that this is the second time I've been able to bottom-quote recently, and both were to short messages like this one.

I found FL very exciting - ten years after the release of the original games, it was great to see them with all- new graphics. Then again, I needed them for Sapphire's Pokédex[1] anyway, and I had a few mates playing Pokémon. FireRed was also the first game my girlfriend played, and I still think it's the best version to introduce new players to the game.
(My housemate is now starting with Sapphire, though, so we'll see whether she considers it a good starting game.)

I think the Yellow-style Pokémon following and the Pocket Pikachu- style pedometer mean there's a lot more wrapped up in this package. I wonder whether Kanto will include RSE or DPP Pokémon too - that'd be excellent.

Weird. I've never had a problem with it, regardless of the length of the messages, and I've been replying to my own lengthy HS announcement discussions. Wonder if there's a setting you can change somewhere?

[1] Which reminds me. When am I getting a Celebi for Sapphire, Nintendo?
Chet Weaver, Beleif You Can Change In - 28 Jun 2009 18:34 GMT There's an option where I can choose not to include the original message when replying, and a selection of characters to indent with, but not anything more specific than that. Maybe there's a glitch in mine that gets confused when there's already indentation.

Chet Weaver, Beleif You Can Change In - 29 Jun 2009 19:14 GMT I'm using Outlook Express. It's a separate program. I was using Firefox for a while, but it kept freezing on me so I switched to Safari. I don't believe I've noticed any concurrance between the change this problem, though. However, I do miss it remembering what page I was on when it closed.

Tried going through all the settings? I can't speak for OE, but MS Outlook has been increasingly targetting the lazy over the years, encouraging all manner of ugly habits, from top-posting to HTML. I know it's for private e-mail rather than Usenet, but I quite like plain text, thank you very much.

I've checked everything that could remotely be affecting indenting, and there is nothing else. Oddly enough, it's working in this one, so I have to wonder if it's affected by my newsserver. Due to unspecified technical reasons, news.motzarella.org (which I had been using until now) had to become news.eternal-september.org.

I liked how it can remember what page(s) it was on when it closed. I could take a break from reading webcomic archives without having to bookmark anything. I wonder if having three tabs open constantly was an issue...

Good point about webcomics - I haven't read any in years, but Firefox would make it a lot easier. I used to have to constantly delete and re-add bookmarks.
