Well, I just got back from Toys "R" Us, with my new Mew.  Maybe I
shouldn't've been so surpised that the kids in front of me were so into
Pokemon.  It was just about the only thing they talked about the whole
time and with such excitement that it made me wish I knew more.  The
line wasn't what I'd call long, but the kid in front of me had just
bought a new copy of of Fire Red, opened it in front of me, and caught
a Pidgey by the time he got to the front, with time to spare.

According to the girl handing out the Mews, whose trainer name was Red,
she had been supplied with two cartridges, each filled to the brim with
Mews.  By the time I got there, at about 1:30 ish, she was already on
the second cart.  I forgot to ask how they got their hands on so many
Mews.

I had gotten there by bus, but decided to walk home even though I was
hungry.  Fortunately, the mall was along the way and there was some
sort of auto sales event there, which meant free flame-broiled burgers.
All in all, a good day.

Oh, yeah.  I thought I'd also share with you the stats of the Mew they
were trading out:

MEW, level 10
Original Trainer: MYSTRY
IDNo 06930
Ability: Synchronize
Memo: Impish nature, lv10, fateful encounter

No items, no ribbons
HP:41
Attack: 26
Defense: 28
Special Attack: 24
Special Defense: 28
Speed: 27
Exp. Points: 560
Next Level: 182

Moves:
-Pound
-Transform

I also now have the National PokeDex, which I'm sure I didn't have
before.  I haven't tried to do anything with it yet, like teach it
moves or try to rename it.  I probably can't, so I've unofficially
named it Sir Lord Reginald Wigglesbottom the Third.  My brother says
Mew looks like a fetus, but I think it looks more like a chinchilla.

If your new Mew has different stats than mine, feel free to post them
here.  Meanwhile, I'll be over here doing my New Mew Dance.

I gotta Mew!
Mew Mew Mew!
At T-R-U!
Yes it's true!
I gotta Mew!
Mew Mew Mew!
How 'bout you?

Everybody now!

Stare too long into the abyss and the abyss looks like a nifty place to
hide the bodies

Got a Mew myself; traded an extra Snorlax for him on my own Fire Red
cart. Much fun!

Also got me some Transformers while I was there. :-D

I got there a little after 12, and stood in line for almost an hour.
They had two cartridges too, buy had two employees trading them. I
traded off one of my 60+ Eevees, and the girl got all excited, "Oooh
Eevees are so cute" since she's a pokemon fan too apparently. :)

I also picked up Red Rescue team while I was there.

My Mew has different stats, same trainer & ID #. I checked it out, and
it was able to learn all the TMs I have left, and all the HMs. Now all
we need to know are the level up moves.

Timid nature,
HP 40
AT 22
DE 25
SA 28
SD 25
SP 28

Now all I need are Celebi & Deoxys.

Let's see, mine again is:

Impish nature
HP:41
Attack: 26
Defense: 28
Special Attack: 24
Special Defense: 28
Speed: 27

Looks like mine is a little more defense-oriented than yours, while the
one you have is slightly faster with a higher Special Attack.  I'm
guessing they'd be evenly matched, more or less, but shouldn't Pokemon
of the same species and level have the same stats when you capture
them?  Or has that changed since... whenever?

No.  The natures change some of the stats

I showed up late to the event, and there was a line all the way out of
the electronics department.  The manager told me that I was looking at
a two hour wait even though the event was supposed to wrap up in
another thirty minutes.  Also, he had no idea how many Mew they still
had left at the counter (two people were trading them out), so I
decided that Mew was not worth the wait and left empty-handed.
