Anyone else get get an invite today? Downloading it now - 1.7gb file so it's gonna take a while. Sony have organized online events every Tuesday and Thursday - starting tomorrow and running until 25th sept. What the hell... i havent gotten invites to ANY of the betas that are currently running around. I'm a Qore subscriber, and i've preordered SOCOM... and nothing. For me, other than playing Resistance once every week or two, I don't play online on PSN much, so I don't expect an invite :( Hi Steve, I think you could be right about Sony checking online habits of beta applicants, but if I'm honest, I play my 360 a lot more than my PS3 and I never play my PS3 online. My brother in-law applied for a key before I did but he didn't get one - and he plays online in the PSN like every day. Sony probably give out a few beta keys to people like myself to try to tempt us away from the competition but most of the folks I've met playing the beta are pretty hard core Sony fans. Maybe it is just random selection and I got lucky or perhaps I fit the demographic better. It might have been selected because I've participated in Betas before - I guess we'll never know. If you want me to spend more time on the PS3 then give beta keys to people to entice them to start playing more. Personally I don't like others having an edge on me by getting into betas that I can't. If Brenden preordered the game and can't get in then there is seriously something wrong with their strategy. Hell I paid for an IGN Insider subscription just to get in on the Battlefield demo. I was going to go out and preorder Socom this weekend hoping to score a beta key but if what Brenden is saying is true I might not even bother. No kev, unfortunately no invite. I got one... and I love it so far. Extremely intense multi-player co-op... better graphics... and the controls are pretty tight. I liked it enough to go pre-order it, let's put it that way. |
